It will be EASY work for Floyd. Real easy. People don't believe me but everyone will see in September. I said the same thing with Judah and Khan. Easy check for Floyd.

Not only are you failing to show any respect for Mayweather at all, but you are totally discrediting Ortiz :-(

I'm not interested in any fight at 147 that isn't Mayweather vs Pacquiao frankly. Neither of them have any worthy challengers. Can't say I'd give either too much credit for fighting anybody other than each other. I'm impartial to either and don't favour either May or Pac, though I'd edge towards Floyd beating him if they ever do fight. Which they won't.

You mean *******s and they only say it when they want to knock Floyd and it fits there argument at the time. Now in this case they will say its not a factor because they are trying to knock Floyd for fighting Ortiz. Thats just how these ESB cats are towards Floyd! Haters!

Floyd has been out over a year because he CHOSE to be out not because of something else. Fighters are there to keep him active but he CHOSE not to fight, so don't use inactivity as an excuse.

And yes, Pac vs Marquez @144 is a **** fight too!

The OP is just trying to justify Ortiz as the next big threat for Mayweather when in reality the fight is going to be one sided. Ortiz brings nothing to the table other than youth.

But it really doesn't matter who Pac or Mayweather fight because they will all be **** fights unless they fight each other. Pac and Mayweather are levels above everyone on WW.

Like TommyV said, I don't give too much credit to Pac or Mayweather if they're fighting anyone other than each other.

So outside of Mayweather not fighting for a year, what makes you think Ortiz has a chance? Outside of a punchers chance, what chance are you giving him?

how am I not showing any respect for Mayweather. I'm stating he is at least 2 levels above Ortiz in terms of skills and ring IQ. Skills pay the bills.

floyd doesnt hit nearly as hard as berto or maidana so i think a one punch knockout is out of the question. ricky hatton gave floyd some problems in the first half of their fight (although he was never gonna win) because he was such an aggressive, relentless fighter. Ortiz is the same only he seems more suited to the weight, plus he punches harder and throws better combinations. he also moves a lot better. It doesnt matter how good a boxer floyd is, he was always gonna have his work cut out for him against hatton and its even more so with ortiz.

Where are people getting this Hatton myth from? Floyd was never troubled apart from that one jab Hatton landed that made him stumble off balance. He won maybe 1 round the entire fight. Floyd just started a bit slow but when the time came to stepping it up he took him apart.

At worst, same happens with Ortiz and Floyd just goes slow to start with while figuring him out. 2 or 3 rounds in he'll be coasting and Ortiz won't find a way back into it.

floyd had to work hard for that win. he only cruised after hatton dropped his game plan because billy graham told him he was 2 rounds down. like i said though, hatton was never gonna win but floyd did have to work hard. he'll have to work harder against ortiz.

Pacquiao maybe? Leonard didn't need a money grubbing tuneup to step up to fight Hagler, why does Mayweather need one to fight a guy who is smaller than him size and by a dozen lbs in the ring?

Fair enough, if that's what you truly believe. I still maintain that Ortiz wins 2 rounds tops and most of the fight will be heavily one-sided.

Er,...not that it matters, but thats not true. Ortiz weighed 161 lbs on fight night against Berto. I don't think Floyd's showing up at 173lbs on fight night.
