Just watched round 3. The quality of punches is roughly equal.

Canelo's best punch was probably the nice uppercut he landed at 41 seconds remaining. He landed 2 flashy looking punches at 1:26 but here we have to wonder about their effectiveness because Golovkin moved back and their impact was largely negated. This is analogous to some of the hard shots GGG landed elsewhere in the fight that Canelo rolled with.

Golovkin landed a hard left hook and jab at 2:43 and another stiff right at 2:03. His jab is clearly the heavier of the two fighters and it's obvious that Saul doesn't enjoy it.

At 2:20 Canelo lands an impressive looking right hand; closer inspection shows Golovkin muffled it with his glove. This is analogous to the vicious little left hook that Golovkin digs into Canelo at about 10s left. Saul ducked right into it, but he likewise had his glove up to absorb the impact. These guys are good with their defence.

Speaking of defence, Golovkin made Canelo miss wide at 2:36. At 2:24 Canelo goes low and is warned to keep them up by the ref. At 1:37 GGG makes Canelo miss widely and at about 38s he makes Canelo miss an uppercut.

Based on current opinion amongst Canelistas, I'm tempted to award that round to GGG based on the amount of times he made Canelo miss. ;)

I'll do round 9 some other time. It's nearly 11 here and time to go to bed.
