I used to spend a lot of time in the boxing club. I can hear all the punches , breathing , grunts , feet on the canvas. All the coaching can be heard from both sides. Its boxing in its truest form. The crowd has always annoyed me to an extent. Especially crowds that are singing songs. So damn annoying that its like the fans are making it about them drinking and singing instead of listening to all the truths of the sport. But I have been able to get past that as long as the ring is mic'ed and I can hear the punches. Even if the crowd is loud, as long as I can hear the punches I am satisfied. if the crowd is too loud and I cant hear the punches ; I wont watch the fight.

I dont watch fights I cant hear. I want to hear the fight not hear drunk people sing Winter Wonderland. So no crowds have been awesome for me. And that really goes for all sports.

I only notice it at the start but once the action gets going I sorta forget about it. I've always felt audience noise for the home fighter could bend a judges view on events so I do wonder if that has made a difference.

Good point ! I have heard home crowds cheer for missed punches just because their fighter is attacking. They are supposed to be professionals but the judges are only human .
