That fight took a lot out of Morales. Had not for Pacs eye injury at the 5th, it would even been more of a war.
IMO the greatest last hurrah of recent times. Not just how Morales fought but the significance of the win I mean Pacquiao is still a name 5 years later. A bigger name.
I honestly think this fight would've been a little closer had the head butt didn't occur earlier in the rounds causing Pac to have difficulty seeing. Nonetheless, if the cut didn't happen, I still see it a win for Morales, albeit I don't think he would have the guts to turn badass in this round. One of my all time favorite rounds of any combat sport for sure.
:good One of my top 5 favorite fights. 2 legends going at it for 12 rounds. I love it how Morales in the 12th is thinking "Look mother****er. I don't give a **** who you think you are, but look at me. I know I won this fight, but I'm gonna fight you like a southpaw even though I'm not even a southpaw." He was basically mocking Pacman even though he got tagged numerous times and lost that round. That's machismo at the highest level. You get goosebumps when the crowd gets on it's feet and applaudes the fighters. Boxing at it's finest.
great fight. Fans can find excuses for any fight in the world, but at the end of the day it's best to just enjoy two top fighters going at it in a great trilogy.
