I didn't see it so can't really comment, save to say many picked Rivas as a tricky opponent to possible beat Whyte.I rated him fairly highly but I 're assessed after he went 23 close rounds with Chisora. That said he's still a decent fighter, has a good jab and 're him getting dropped his style is such that it will happen again but let's just remember that this is boxing and your opponent is allowed to hit you back.I say this because there seems to be a growing number of folk that expect said fighter not get hit,he's still winning and that's all that counts imo.
There is no disputing his power but I'd love to see him regularly fight decent opponents. Until he fights all the top five he will always be known as a fighter who fights bums.
I think Wlads ridiculous ten year reign has clouded folks thinking on this division as traditionally anyone could end up seeing stars against anyone on account the power. Nobody can deny he's done everything since his loss to Joshua.'re Wilder it's hardly surprising he wouldn't take good money to face Whyte as he's too much of a risk.
That's asking a lot as it rarely works that way esp since losing to Joshua.Fury ain't gonna fight him as he doesn't have a title,Wilder not interested so we have Ortiz and Pulev. Rivas didn't seem to be talked of as a bum on here.
I don't like his technique, but he's making it work. I think he lost to Fury but he still came within in an inch of winning. So regardless of his skills, he has tools to make him a formidable opponent. At least in this era. He's not bad a avoiding getting hit a lot when you think about it.
