Povetkin was a decent win I'll admit that, but he was still past it, well past it and aj was arguably losing before the KO. He lost his stamina (due to not having his medication anymore). And him KOing Whyte while he was nearly shot is pretty bad from Whytes POV
Doesn't have the most title defences of his own era, hasn't fought most of the competition because of so many rematches, ducking, doesn't want undisputed.. It's bad
Not great. Klitschko (with an age asterix) WilderX2 Whyte Wallin Cunningham Chisora (I'll give him the first fight) Can't give him two more over Chisora. Johnson and Hammer, while decent at the time, have badly declined with age. Pineta was long pat a contender. Rogan... Really, it is seven wins that range from good to decent.
Not amazing perhaps, but it's the best of the era having the most proper reigning champions and zero losses, as well as zero "hip hip hoorays".
Realistically, his win over Wilder does as well until proven otherwise….. ironic isn’t it? Haters are funny…. As bad as Fury’s resume might be historically, it’s easily the best of current heavyweights, including AJ and Usyk….
Definitely ajs mythical "resume" is still as overrated as ever. People legit brought up Breazeale, Martin, Ruiz and Helanius lol
I think we will all agree boxing would be a better sport if the 0 didn't mean as much or a loss didn't mean as much in general and the best consistently fought the best but it won't happen. Fury has cherry picked his way to 34-0 and now fighting for 10s of millions a fight
If you had the best 10 heavyweights all fight once, all of them would have taken 2 or 3 losses including Fury. Boxing records are padded.
Bowe beat Holyfield twice, that smokes having a staring match with 39 year 8 month wlad and bum ass wilder who has zero good wins. Then throw in wins over Pinklon Thomas, Larry Donald, Micheal Dokes, Pierre Coetzer, Bert Cooper, and Tony Tucker are all better than anyone else on Fury's resume.
This is pretty fair... I think you can judge based on their own era's and then weight your respect for what that means in a historic sense by taking the strength of their era into account. It's probably a good job for Wilder's resume in particular that people don't get credit for beating people who duck them... Just think how many people would count a default win over Wilder from him ducking them - Joshua, Povetkin, Whyte, etc.
For me fury’s biggest win is Wlad a fight in which he was doping and therefore should have a big asterisk attached. his second biggest win and third biggest win is over deontay wilder who granted has unbelievable power but biggest win is over a very old luis Ortiz who was soundly outboxing him and whose biggest win was Charles Martin. for me all of the current heavyweight era have a padded and somewhat questionable record. But AJ has a slightly better one. Wlad without the PEDs, Parker who was an unbeaten champion at the time and povetkin who was soundly avoided by most. But again until all have fought each other and we have results including Usyk it’s debatable. I have a feeling by the time it’s all said and done Usyk may have beaten them all
