Besides the Klits....are there any "challengers" over the past 5 years that could have competed in the Division pre-2005 (since Holy & Tyson declined)?
once the Klitschko's retire and the prospects start fighting eachother then yes, the HW division will be much better
Altough it's not the fault of the Klits for becoming dominant in an era where they have no challengers the same quality when Lewis was champ. Something that was always held against them.
Not so bad imo, you have Wladimir and Vitali who are as good as any 1 and 2 from other eras. Haye, Adamek, Fury, Helenius, Povetkin, Chisora, Price, Chambers, Arreola and Peter would be able to hold their own with contenders from even the 70s and 60s.
I think these guys could compete in any era: Wlad, Vitali, Haye, Chambers, Adamek, Chagaev, Chisora, Peter, Helenius, Arreola.
No. Absolutely not. Only Wlad and Vitali...the rest are **** compared to other eras in boxing. Adamek could compete in any cruiserweight era but not at heavyweight.
Adamek could easily compete in the 50s in Marciano's **** division or in the early 80s in Holmes' **** division.
Terrible, abysmal & truly awful Todays HW division is filled with overweight, overrated, unskilled bums who gas after 3-4 rounds
Some other good ones: Povetkin, Perez, Mitchell, Glazkov, Pulev, Price, and Gerber. The division has more talent than it ever has overall, although far fewer good fighters in the US. But what has hurt the HW division is: too few competitive matchups between top 15 contenders. We saw another mismatch last night with Molina vs. Arreola.
