2 . . . thats the number of good fighters it has in it right now. 3 if haye gets his ass back in the ring
you have two atg. two extremly talented fighters (olympic champion and unbeaten beltholder and a former cruiserweight champ and heavyweight beltholder) two upcoming very good contenders (fury and pulev) and a couple solid journeyman (thomspon, chagaev, dimitrenko) nice prospects (jennings, wilder, mago, price)
Vits is not an ATG. It remans to be see how, who and how often Haye will fight. Fury has done little but run his mouth. Dimitrenko has always been crap and Chadeav fights nothing but tomato cans now. We'll see how the prospects fare in the future and if they can raise this division up from the ashes.
awful, 2 decent fighters are dominating and the public are grasping at straws for the contenders - the likes of Arreola, K.Johnson, Chambers, Pulev, Charr, Chisora, Helenius, Fury, Solis, Price, Thompson are very poor fighters. Povetkin is above average. and Haye & Adamek get a pass cause they are not really HWs - they never could have stepped up if the division was not so weak.
Put it like this, the tomato cans from the 80's atleast showed up in supreme shape and " tried" to win unlike today's heavyweights.
Fury, Povektin, Haye, Chisora, , Pulev are good to watch, the rest are all useless. No ATG will emerge from the HW division for a long time.
I voted for option #3 Its bad but there have been worse The post-Lewis era has been dreadful for a plethora of reasons. The top 2 guys (understandably) wont fight each other, the contenders wont fight each other & the overall standards of skill & ability is truly awful.
It's a pretty weak division but it's coming back. It's the Klitschko era and then lots of garbage. TKlitschko's have been good not great or exceptional but good. They earned respect. I dont put them in ATG status but they are good.
It will never come back if top 10 guys keep avoiding each other and only fighting 2 or 3 times a year.
