I don't much of Hughie Fury. He fights like a sparring partner. He is physically weak and lacks aggression. I think Szpilka beats him.
He's not awful but compared to his cousin he is. He's still young.. he's fought tough opponents, if he really dedicated himself to boxing, and understood the sport better like Tyson, he obviously has potential.
Bearing in mind hes only 23 he has 6-7 years to hit his prime and work on things. Hes a million times better than ymthe journeymen he started off fighting. He is levels above the british title picture as his ko over sexton showed, his 2 defeats a close fight with parker and a loss to pulev aftet suffering a bad cut. Thefes potential, at 23 years hes fought in a wbo world title fight and an ibf eliminator, give him more time to develop. Would love to see him fight an eric molina or lucas browne
He is between 15th to 20th at the moment, and he is a top 20 HW. He has the most unwatchable dull approach I have seen in a HW boxing ring. No one wants to watch him. He doesn’t have the skill or technique to be anymore than he is- a touch and run HW. Tries to steal the decision as he touches you and runs away. Nothing he throws when in against a higher level HW could break an egg.
Yeah I rate him but was somewhat disappointed with his last performance cut or no cut. He needs to operate at Euro level for the time being when he eventually comes back and try and get a shot at the EBU Title before progressing to the next stage.
Had balls to fight Pulev in Bulgaria, something Whyte and Miller were too afraid to do. Win or lose, at 24 his record is already better than Miller's. This kid is a handful for all the top-10 guys and will genuinely fight anyone.
He is clearly very skilled in certain ways and very experienced at a high level already. He could surprise some people when you consider how young he is and how much time he has to develop and keep plugging away. He's a victim of the hype from Uncle Meth, let's be honest, who expected too much from a very young and somewhat physically underdeveloped heavyweight.
One problem he may have is that he appears to be one of those guys who is prone to getting cut? Peter Fury said that he'd been cut in the prep for the Pulev fight and that it had re-opened, a risk they knew about but chose to accept.
He's 3 or 4 years from being completely punch drunk.... I honestly think he should think carefully about how long he goes on for, given how young he started. Voice is totally slurred.
