AA was exposed as a fighter w/ no stamia, and no game plan going into these fights. Any fighter w/ movement can destroy him. His shell defense is a joke.

He always looks very unprofessional when he throws those 6 punch combos.
Looks like he's just flailing away when he does it hoping he lands something.

at middleweight he would still beat anybody except martinez, so he isnt that bad. his shell defence isnt bad either, because after the ward fight, his face didnt look that bad, because of his shell defence.

he still TKO/KO's sturm or pavlik, believe me on this one and he moved from middleweight too super middleweight. believe me when I tell you that either direll or ward would have major problems vs bigger, stronger, as tall as them, guys like X, Dawson, Pascal, Cloud. so, it is not easy too jump a division and beat the best guys out there!!!

styles make fights and i think kp would b a perfect fight for AA. Just stand and trade, swing for the fences and see who can outlast the other.

Hell no. First off that fight would now have to be at SMW and AA looks dead at that weight, secondly Pavlik is the much more complete fighter of these two and AA's straight forward style would leave him broken against Pavlik.

Abraham is not a club fighter. He is world class. Not world class at 168, but don't dare think back on Abraham's career as a club fighter. You'd be unwise to do so.

maybe he doesn't look so good at 168, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him return to 160 and grab another title, that's where he belongs

    I don't think he's a club fighter. I think it's a combination of two things.

#1, he shouldn't have moved up in weight. Even though he's probably still one of the biggest punchers at 168, arguably harder hitting than anyone in the Super 6, he's just too short in comparison to the other guys. And he can't physically crowd/overpower/intimidate guys as much at 168 as he can at 160.

#2, No matter what weight he's at, his record so far was a fluke. His style was too basic. I remember hearing commentators maybe 1 or 2 fights before the Super 6 started, when AA was still undefeated, and beating the **** out of some unknown Euro guy, talking about the "paradox" of how a guy with such a simple style, who relied so heavily on the turtle defence, was still unbeaten. I think one of them was Kellerman. I don't know much about his opposition before S6, but my guess is none of them had the combo of intelligence, skills, and strength to carry out the gameplan it takes to beat a fighter like AA. Once AA stepped up to bigger, faster, and more elite guys in the S6 he started getting his ass handed to him.

If you just keep punching a guy who's in a shell, and from all kinds of angles, punch around the gloves, to the head and to the body, and keep him at the end of your punches, exactly as Dirrell did, you can beat them. Or you can take Pac's approach of just throwing so many punches that they have to stay shelled up the entire fight.

To show how good AA really is, consider that he went life and death with Miranda. Every other elite fighter has beaten Miranda without any trouble. Not club fighter, but definitely not elite. A fight between him and Pavlik would be pretty good. I would give the edge to Pavlik just because I think the blueprint for beating AA has been laid out pretty well and Pavlik would be a fool not to study it. He's also a good puncher with above average work rate. If he punched through and around AA's gloves he'd be effective. I feel like AA would have a hard time getting close to Pavlik because Pav's straight punches are probably harder than the punches from the S6 guys who beat AA, and Pav can pretty much worst case just keep AA at the end of his 1-2 all night.

Funny thing is, BHop today could probably beat AA, yet AA demolished Taylor.

AA took Miranda's 0 which is different.

AA lacks stamina, timing and self-confidence. For most of the guys here AA looks no different to the fighter who knocked Gevor and Miranda out, but that's not true. The truth is that his style has been always the same, but even with that turtle shell low punch-output style, he would be far more dangerous if his timing would be better and if he would do his "flurry thing" more often. He barely let his hands go against Froch and Ward. He was hiding behind his turtle shell for most of the fight. In the past he did that for a couple of rounds and then he started attacks in every round - this is what he used to do, but he didn't do that against Froch and Ward. I'm interpreting that as a lack of self-confidence. In addition he has stamina issues. If Abraham would've fought like he did in the first two rounds against Ward, the fight would've been much closer (not saying that he would've won)...

Abraham should retire or change his team - nothing else.
