there is no shame in a fighter losing. Yes, AA has been well beaten 3 times, but they were 3 fights against the very best in a division above where he was used to fighting.

Any fighter that wins world titles shouldn't be laughed at or mocked. The guy is tough as nails and despite 3 one sided beatings, he was never knocked out or even really looking like being in serious trouble (down once v Dirrell and hurt a little by Froch in the 10th and 11th).

AA is not a club fighter - that is seriously disrepectful to him, and also to Dirrell, Froch and Ward, as well as some very good fighters who AA has beaten.

 

AA is (was) not a club fighter. His skills are very limited, and he always fought in spurts, but he made up for it with devastating punching power and general toughness. A puncher in the purest sense of the word.
And he beat some pretty good competition, but once he had to face the real top guys, it wasn't enough. They just outboxed him (even Taylor did for large parts of their fight).
I am convinced that Abraham is totally finished now, because I can see a change in him pre- and past his loss to Dirrell. Pre Dirrell, he tried to win, and he threw punches, knowing that no matter how outboxed he would get, he could finish the fight with a single punch - but he seems mentally broken now, he doesn't believe in himself, his heart is gone. A puncher who doesn't throw punches is doomed. He should retire.

 

Abraham wasn't exposed as a club fighter, but he was exposed as being to limited to hang with top SMWs.

He can fight medicore MW guys in front of his hometown crowd. He can't fight top 5 SMWs outside of his home country. He'll always become paralyzed and get pummeled behind his static high guard posture.

True! NO surprise how he fought, but I was still shocked to see this man without stamina at all! How can anyone look gassed after couple rounds of only blocking punches?
Maybe it's also Wegner's fault?

 

AA was not exposed in the S-6. We laid out The fight plan and physical attributes it takes to beat him years ago right here on ESB. The vast majority of posters on ESB called those of us who were in that group "haters" and "fools." Just check the history.

one of the good quotes on here, you obviously watched abe at middle.
he would literally do his turtle thing for a few rounds, and then he would start to go abe**** (pun intended). plus his combinations earlier were alot better. now he just throws a couple of hooks. back in the day he would counterpunch, he would mix hooks with straights, and his timing was such that even his wide punches got in. i think the only fighter who was beating him while abe was trying was dirrell. abe was catching him barely, so his power couldnt be delivered, but even in this fight everyone could feel the momentum turning.

the froch fight, yeah abe lost every round, but i didnt see froch do anything special. abe just simply didnt do anything. im not saying froch wouldnt have beaten him either way, but the dominating nature of the victoriy would be gone.

ward? to me he won because abe stopped doing what he was doing. up until that point ward was uncomfortable. the scorecards were bull**** to me. the first 3 rounds belonged to abe.

 

and that was by a simple balance shot. the knockdown he delivered against dirrell was similar, but wasnt counted in favor of abe.

 

The guy won 3-4 rounds against the best SMW of the planet. So he cannot be a club fighter.
