It seems like Cotto was on the verge of super stardom and he was going to be on top of the boxing world ... now that he's lost ... he's lost in boxings "purgatory" ... he's on the verge of being a forgotten figure in the boxing world.

There were so many big things ahead of him if he wouldve won the fight ... a possible superfight with Oscar De La Hoya (along with a huge payday) and pulling the former p4p king, Floyd Mayweather jr out of retirement for a potential legacy fight and another huge payday.

He now has nothing to offer anyone - anymore

    Thoughts ???

The loss was pretty bad but not career destroying and Cotto is still a superstar

    How will he bounce back?

He's already scheduled to rematch Margarito and given the circumstances of the last fight - he could find himself in a tough spot.

One loss and he has nothing to offer anymore?, this seems to be the case for every fighter in boxing, one loss and they're finished. Some of you need to wake up already, all great fighters ran into losses and came back from the, Cotto can still come back and is hardly finished, not even close to it.

That was one of the absolute best losing performances I've ever seen. It was purely a matter of natural size and strength overcoming a brilliant performance. Cotto schooled Margarito otherwise. But I firmly believe that the size/power difference is just too great for Cotto to ever beat Margarito.

The blueprint has been set on how to beat him ...

Make him feel uncomfortable and he will more likely fold ... like George Foreman said back in the day ... these guys that are used to dominating guys don't know how to handle themselves when they become the ones getting dominated.

Given the severity of the loss ... who's to say that he won't remember that one night and go back into his shell once he comes close to that memory.

It happened to Kermit Cintron and he's never going to be the same ...

Very bad loss... the look on Miguel's face, the cuts, the blood tell everything... he looked completely ruined...

What's worst is that IMO Cotto did all he could. He himself said he tried to go to the body but didn't work. He put on a clinic for 6 rounds, but still ran out of stamina and got caught.

I don't say he can't come back - Cotto is a terrific fighter. But it was one of those heart breaking, mentally crushing losses...

How can he say he can do better next time if the tried everything and still got knocked out?

He will have a decent fight next after his much needed break then we can decide from there how finished he really is, a rematch is already planned and he already mentioned what improvements he needs to make and is showing serious signs of wanting to return. If he struggles or gets KO'd in his next fight then sure we might start a discussion about him being possibly finished depending who his opponent is.

It all depends on Cotto's gameplan for the second fight, how he looks in his comeback fight and how the hell is Cintron never gonna be the same?

I can't believe this crap... Since when does loosing your 0 means that you are finished? Guys, this is still a young fighter who has a lot of tools in his box. He can still bounce back and be on top of everything again. It will take time don't get me wrong but you can't say that he is finished... C'mon!!

I am sure that you guys are fans of PW as well... Was he finished after he lost to Quintana? (By the way I rather prefer for Cotto to lose to Margo than Quintana) PW came back. avenge his lost and now people are even mentioning him as the #1 or #2 guy in the division so please... Give Cotto a break. Let's sit down, relax and see what happens.
