Hatton is a british legend. He was outclassed against Mayweather. He had a shot of beating Pac but did not stick to the game plan (see round 2 up until the KO.) His only 2 losses were to the p4p #1 & 2, so why the hate?
his chin was good for the majority of his career as he got older & ballooned up & down in weight losing 30/40 lbs quickly before fights just weak'nd him its wear & tear mate !!!!!
Calzaghe had a Quality chin all his career ...... but his three fights he was getting older hence getting knocked down by a jab of roy & a flaky counter of bernard just age & wear & tear mate
was solid. He walks into shots which increases the power on it. Also going up and down in weight affects chin, so it got worse towards end of career.
will it happen to froch :think..... i dunno even tho he is in his mid thirties he lives the clean lifestyle outside the ring walks around 2/3 lbs above his fight weight doesnt drink or smoke hence calzaghe & hatton drink / party / sniff charlie we will see in the near future ??? froch prob only has about 2/3 years left in the sport max his chin has been quality so far .... pascal & ward roughed him up a bit dirrell hurt him the most so far his chin has took some abuse maybe he will be able to pro-longe it ..... we'll see :think
Hatton's chin wasn't solid. He walked through punishment from lower class fighters earlier on his career. Tsyzu was past it, and couldn't pull the trigger. And all the holding and fouling that took place, it was embarrassing. Ricky getting smashed by pacman in just 2 rounds tells it's story. Mosley , Bradley, Cotto, Marquez, and Clottey showed what a solid chin is.
The clown that started this thread im guessing is a 13 year old boy that religiously checks his poor excuse for a ***** to see if his first pubic hair has sprouted. Cab drivers and shot to **** ATG's? Oh really!!!!
This content is protected This content is protected I'm still amazed that so many English types insist that this bloke is an ATG.
possibly argument for hofer, but i cant see it realistically. what did he do that stands out in history, nothnig really. he cut his career too short to make it that high too - if he'd stuck around, eaten sensibly and moved up another level for another title then he'd have been a HOFer. at least he had the guts to face the best, i think thats the strongest argument for him being a 'british' legend anmd its why I put him ahead of Joe 'protect the zero' Calzaghe.
Yes, there are Iron Chinned fighters that could take that punch. What we know is unfortunately Ricky Hatton couldn't. There is NO SUCH thing as "that punch would have KOed anybody" it doesn't exist.
Listen Fanboy Hatton had a Glass Jaw and gave us two of the most embarrassing and brutal KO's of the last 10 years.
