There have been heavyweights past and present who's defence is as flawed as his that dont have what you would consider great chins but you wouldnt consider them chinny either.

I hate when people say fighters with poor defences are chinny when its clear that them just getting caught with huge shots is the reason they go down or get KO'd but I dont see that being the case with Morrison. I seen him dropped with punches and by fighters that would not drop most top fighters or most fighters with an average chin.

You trying to say Morrison had a better chin then Lewis??? Lewis took punches from fighters that would have KO'd Morrison 3 times over.

So I guess Lewis was only hit twice in his entire career "right on the button" even though he's been in with punchers like Morrison himself, Tua, Briggs, Tyson, Rudduck, Klitschko ect all who landed good shots on Lewis and never went down.

**** Lewis went to war with Mercer and took a lot of punishment for 10 rounds in that fight and he didnt fold like Morrison did. And Mercer folded him in less then half the time he was in there with Lewis.

Not as an absolute statement, but it's debatable. What the **** does it matter? Morrison would get wobbled when hit on the button, Lennox would go to sleep. DaVarryl Williamson went longer with McCall than Lewis did, does that mean Williamson had a better chin that Lennox??

None of these guys have 'glass' jaws, I don't even like that phrase. I'm 200 lbs and semi-educated on how to throw a shot, and I doubt I could KO Tommy or Lennox if they stood there and gave me a free shot. That said, neither of these guys were Tyson or Ali when it came to taking punches.

You're gonna compare McCall from 2004 to 1994??? Yeah Williamson went longer then Lewis did he also won! 1994 McCall puts Williamson to sleep quick.

And the only time you can consider Lewis "going to sleep" was vs Rahman vs McCall he got up and the ref stopped it while he was a little uneasy on his feet. Morrison has been worse many times even in fights he wasnt stopped in.

Lewis got caught with shots twice in his career and went down Morrison got caught almost as much as he caught his opponents. To compare there chins esp considering who they fought IMO is laughable.

If someone gets hit flush on the chin and knocked out... everyone assumes they have chin issues.

    Biggest myth in the game.

    Morrison had a decent chin.
He'd never been the distance when he fought Mercer, and that fight was when we found out that Mercer's skull was made of titanium. Morrison blew his wad and ran out of gas. That's why he got caught. And getting tied up in the ropes and pummeled until unconscious does not mean you have a bad chin.
Lewis gave him a frightful beating until Lane stepped in and stopped it while Morrison was standing on his feet ready for some more. He wasn't out of it at all, just a beaten fighter and Lane knew it.
The Bent fight, his only other KO loss in 50-something fights, was an enigma. But again, he was beat by the 3 KD rule. He wasn't really hurt. He looked weird in that fight and I wouldn't be surprised if he was drunk or high.

A pure glass chin would not have been able to do all the things Tommy Morrison did in boxing. He had an undependable chin which fell apart when he was hit clean with a counter like with Michael Bentt or when he was tired like Ray Mercer, but it was good enough to usually get him past the point where he could land his own punches.
