Valuev was well skilled for his size. Got many decisions he should't have, but was a very slid HW .

Excellant chin, a lot of size, a lot of expierience and some good fundamentals. It must have been hard to find sparring to prepare for him as well.

Valuev was a fantastic fighter. I don't understand the hate. :huh

The man had the greatest chin ever in boxing.

Not really that bad. Not as bad as people here make him out to be. Yeah, he looked like ****, but he was over 7 feet and 300 + lbs.! We shouldn't expect a man that size to move like Ray Robinson. He was good and deserved his spot in the top ten, but he is no all-time great or anything.

Valuev, like a lot of acromegalic giants, deteriorated rapidly once he hit his mid thirties. It happened to Hong Man Choi as well (the Korean kickboxer). Those dudes just seem to get old overnight, lose all their aggression, what little speed and mobility they have. Quite sad really.

He had absolutely no power in his slow ass punches, his chin isn't all that's its cracked up to be (he's been rocked/stunned by Bidenko, Barrett, Bergeron, Chagaev, Haye and others)...and he's completely clueless of how to handle an opponent that moves laterally.
