This would ****-UP Everything (as far as Mayweather vs Pacquiao). I think the only Positive in a Margarito upset, is that it would make a possible rematch with Miguel Cotto....HUGE!!!

Imagine...Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito in MSG...DAMN!!! If Pacquiao plans to continue fighting after this upset...More than likely, he'll wait for the "last-man-standing" of the whole Khan/Maidana/Bradley/Alexander chaos. As for Floyd...he has NO OTHER CHOICE but the fight the winner of Williams/Martinez.

But for the record...Margarito beating Pacquiao...WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!
    AHHH DARE TO DREAM.:rasta

It'll be the worst thing to happen to boxing since Tyson went to jail.

I don't think it will. It could be a massive blessing in disguise. I mean if a Margarito led to what Darryl's just said:

"Imagine...Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito in MSG...DAMN!!! How can the above be bad? I'd love to see these match-ups.

Daryl another positive is all the dumb Pac threads will cease

But I imagine we will see Margarito vs Vanes as Top Rankers likes to double end their crappy cards

I don't think it would necessarily be bad (except for the Pac fans... like me ) but it would certainly turn the boxing world on it's head for a time, and such a huge upset would generate a huge amount of publicity for the sport.

It would be... interesting, to say the least.

For Mayweather and GBP, it would be terrible...not so much Arum.

Mayweather will have lost his chance of ever getting the opportunity (rephrase that, not taking the opportunity...) of beating the best version of Pacquiao. He would have to face Margarito, and then winner of Martinez/Williams...but that still wouldn't make up for not beating a future ATG in Pacquiao, in my opinion.

GBP will have lost the chance of a lot of money.

Arum though, still has Margarito and numerous other boxers to milk. He won't make the kind of money Mayweather and Pacquiao will make in one bout. But he would probably go on some sort of mission by matching each and every boxer he has at his dispense to try eventually get the money he would have earned through Mayweather and Pacquiao. We would probably see Gamboa v Lopez earlier, which is a plus.

well lets say... if margos last performance was ring rust.... and he actualy possesed the power he had the night he beat cotto, then I can see that as possible

because yes i can see him standing infront of pac all night, getting hit alot.. but we all know he has a great chin and will keep coming forward.. so hes bound to hit pac ...and with his strength and size against pacs naturally smaller physique he can probably do some serious damage to pac... think what he looked like after the Clottey fight and he hardly got hit

I think its very probable pac could get tko'ed or stopped on cuts or something

.... that said I think Pac will win a wide wide UD or a late TKO rd 11 or 12

Cotto vs Margarito would not be nearly as hyped as a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao will shatter boxing records if both are still on their undefeated streaks. Its the only fight the media in america cares about.

Margarito vs Cotto would do just as well as the first fight. Well but not great. Both have been exposed recently and it would not be an interesting sell for the national media.

Arum would be fine. Pac would still be a star and Margo would become huge. Plus Marg vs Cotto, Pac vs Bradley/Khan and May vs Martinez/Williams would all be big legacy fights.

I don't know. Given Arum's track record, Margarito opens the door to more in-house match-ups than Pac does (Pac having steadily cut a path through a few of them). You'd get Cotto again; you'd probably get Clottey; you'd get Martirosyan; you'd get Chavez Jr, long before you got to the likes of Williams, Martinez, Kirkland etc.

But for one fight (May/Pac), you'd be getting 3 more (Cotto/Marg, Pac/140 King and Floyd/Martinez/Williams).

And I'd disagree, just because Cotto and Marg will no longer be at their best, doesn't mean the fight won't sell as well. In fact, it would sell far better than the first. There's history there.

The only parties who would lose out are Floyd and golden boy as they ouldnt have anuy other weight or person to use to target an arum fighter that would create a fight of the same magnitude..

If margo did win then the cotto fight would be huge, i have also heard that cotto has one fight remaining with top rank so as usual arum would feed him to margo since if he had intentions of signing a contract exstension he would have by now and remeber if you dot stay with arum he will punish you. this is another reason why i think arum is conducting this match hoping that pac wont retire with his new congressional duties.

IMO floyd if pac does lose would fight cotto pac and margo as margo would become a star if he beat pac and garer enough interest.

biggest mistake is having it at 151. they just gave an already huge Margarito more muscle to pound Pac to submission.they should have the fight at 147. TopRank have calculated the risk for the upset, and it aint bad. fact is, Mexican and latino fanbase is the biggest out there and with Margarito pulling the upset, Arum wont be bothered.
