How bad would Pacquiao have beaten Marquez in 2009?

Likely a 12 round fight. JMM deserves the benefit of the doubt considering he stylistically neutralizes Pac in many ways. Though, JMM was down against Katsidis and hurt by mild punching Juan Diaz. It's not out of the realm of possibility that he would have gotten caught cold with something big, ironically.

Oh man that was one of the greatest times in recent years...a month without fanatical pac supporters garbaging up boxing forums. There was also that 3 day span where a hurricane knocked out internet in most of the Philippines and Pac/May sh*tposting ceased almost entirely for the duration.

Incredibly skilled counterpuncher flukes counterpunch? You realise how silly this sounds right?

I like watching Pac fight but his moronic fans really need to just accept that their fighter got over confident and careless and got timed with a peach of a punch.

Juan says it's nap time. Rock n Roll. Deal with it.

About as bad as he beat him in 2008, which is to say, Pac might win 5 rounds.

PAC would win a close UD PAC at his best is a better fighter than JMM.

styles make fights but 2009 PAC would win a hard close fight but clear

Playing that game? Well there's an equal chance of Marquez getting KD'd three times as there is Pacquiao getting KTFO.

Of course there is a chance of anything. People pretending there is a definitive answer that is factual drive me crazy in threads like this... However, in this particular case, we have 4 fights between them at varying weights to look at for reference in addition to one of those fights occurring just the year before the mentioned date in the thread title in addition to a matchup just two years after the mentioned date.

They didn't fight in 2009, but they fought not long before in 2008. And in 2008, the majority of viewers felt that Marquez won that fight just like in 2004 and to a much wider degree at welterweight (where a 2009 match up would have occurred) in 2011 and 2012.

So if they fought at welterweight in 2009, I'm not sure what evidence or opinionated reasoning I would have to fall back on if I tried to say I thought Pac would win.

So... what is wrong with me saying that I think Marquez would win and citing their 4 fights as the reasoning?

First, Marquez doesn't have his S&C coach Memo,,... Second, Marquez struggled with lesser fighters in the fights that occurred in between the second and the third fight,,... WHile on the other hand, Pacquiao has been knocking down opponents left and right,,... Third, Pacquiao is just reaching his prime in their second fight,,... Fourth, I thought Pacquiao started to reach his peak in the dela Hoya, Hatton and Cotto fights,,... He started getting past it in his Clottey fight,,... More and more people has noticed this with his next bouts,,... THe Margarito fight and most specially in the Mosley fight,,... Fifth, Marquez fought a very controlled Pacquiao in the third,,... That Pacquiao doesn't have the stomach to finish his opponent anymore,,... "Boxing, is not for killing people." - Manny Pacquiao
That's after the Margarito fight, he was holding back since then,,... back in 2009, Pacquiao was a beast with different intentions,,... Have you seen Pacquiao threw a full swing lately??? THen you have to go back to see him throw one,,...
