Yeah Jennings looked improved offensively with JDJ in his corner. They probably should have took a couple of softer touches though to get everything in sync, before taking on a guy like Ortiz. I think they underestimated the Real King Kong.

    Agree
This was a barn burner and mad respect to Jennings
He took some HARD punches and was still aware of the situation as the ref called this one off to save him from himself:deal:thumbsup

I thought it was pretty even coming into the 7th round. Jennings just got too aggressive, fighting in the pocket with Luiz, and paid the price.

Jennings did a very good summarization of the fight post fight when they interviewed him in the ring. I think Jennings thought he just had to survive past the fifth round and then the fat ass Ortiz would get tired and he could wail on him. It never happened. Ortiz came out in the fifth looking like he was 50lbs lighter and with a full tank of gas! Started doing the Muhammed Ali foot shuffle. I knew Jennings was dead meat as soon as I saw that. Ortiz really started showing off his amateur boxing skills and baiting Jennings and then catching him with massive uppercuts. What a truly awesome fight! Both boxers got a lot of credit in my book. I really was impressed with Ortiz' adjustments.

He got clearly hurt multiple times, dropped then stopped.

He had no solution against a fighter bigger than him and more skilled. He lasted 6 rds only because his negativity, trying to nullify Ortiz' punches by smothering him on the inside, ala Porter, negating his own punches in the process.

Once Ortiz adapted and used his legs to create distance, he was dead meat.

Lol at those comparing him to Povetkin; Povetkin can think and adapt in the ring.
Jennings gets by just with sheer strength, will and athleticism; his chin is rather average.

and also shows that Klitschko´s Power is far away from
Foreman , Liston , Lewis and many other Champions.

George Foreman would Knocked out Jennings in the first
Round. Jennings went easily the distance with Wlad.

Remember the HBO crew was hyping Jennings after his "outstanding" performance against Klitschko. Kellerman was talking rematch before the 12th round with Wlad, I am not kidding you.

Bull****. None of those guys KO'd everyone they fought, including non-elite guys. Wlad was shot when he fought Jennings and it's a matter of him being gunshy and not landing too many shots on Jennings. Wlad's power is proven.

70's George Foreman went the distance with Argentine Gregorio Peralta (had been KO'd before). Sonny Liston went the distance with Bert Whitehurst (26 losses and had been KO'd before). I can go on.

Pulev and Ustinov wouldn't do a damn thing to Ortiz. They're mediocre as hell. God, I hate Pulev. Utter trash.

I know this. If I had to bet my house on an Ortiz fight with Wlad, Wilder, Povetkin or Fury, Im not sure in my heart of hearts I dont take Ortiz. If im Fury or Wilder im hoping he ages quickly or goes after Czar or Martin. Big, left handed puncher with great boxing skills? Whew.

Good fight. I had it 3-3 going into the 7th but Ortiz was winning his rounds easier then Jennings did and hurt Jennings a couple times.

Ortiz has a short window because of his age so he needs to face the other top guys in the division.

Jennings would probably be smart by taking an easy fight or two. He has a new trainer, lost 2 straight, and just got ko'ed. A couple easy wins with his new trainer might get him back on track.

Good post, yeah man it was a refreshingly good fight for the division.
