Good fight , Ortiz looked like a beast in there , throwing alot and hitting hard , hope to see him vs one of the champs.

Oddly, it was a very good, very well-contested match that's being made out to be Jennings getting embarrassed. He wasn't embarrassed, he met a guy with more polish and more strength and he lost in a good battle, and he took the loss like a man should. But he's not been respected much for the effort, or the unlikely ability to get to this point altogether, career-wise, or taking his loss like he actually respects his opponent, himself and the sport.

Instead it's a bunch of "I told you Jennings was overrated." or "See, Wlad really was shot." or "I'm so happy to see Jennings get embarrassed." It's baffling. It's the mentality that makes most of my posts now glib parodies of these juvenile, devoid of nuance, painfully unaware, irrationally judgmental thought droppings that most of you think makes you appear discerning of talent and quality, when it actually makes you appear naive about difficulty levels of what you're observing. Or, most of my posts are that way because I ran out of meaningful things to say and it keeps me entertained while I'm still under house arrest. Who knows? It could be somewhere in the middle. Regardless, I was actually pleased with both men's performances, for the sake of the division, if nothing else. They should both be proud.

Now for the REAL truth about the fight....fact is, it wasn't very competitive. Jennings clearly gave it his best, but he was way out of his depth. Ortiz looked like it was gonna be an early night, hurting jennings in round one...and for sure it looked like it was over in round 3 when ortiz hurt jennings badly again. the KO was just a culmination of the huge disparity in class which was obvious from the very first round. Oritiz is a complete fighter with an extensive amateur background. He's smart, skilled and powerful. Jennings on the other hand, just started fighting what, around 2008? no amateur experience, nothing. Considering his background, Jennings did great, but he was basically DOMINATED. Not close, not that competitive...a borderline beatdown.

The fact that jennings did so well against wlad only illustrates more than ever that wlad SUCKED!...or rather SUCKS! I don't blame wlad for the weak state of the division, of course, but wlad was a weak champ and a very, very boring, unwatchable type fighter. boxing is far better off without him as champ.
