how badly would it damage floyds legacy if he lost his 0 (by knockout) to a 38 year old shane mosley, the very 1st time that floyd stepped up to the plate and fought a proper 147 pounder?

also, if mosley knocked floyd out, do you think mosley ranks higher as an ATG than floyd? (if neither was to ever fight again)

bad, real bad. (pause...wait for floyd fan backlash) fact is it would give some credit to people's claims that he avoided real challenges after corrales and castillo. because the one time he took on an opponent that had even a shot at beating him, he lost (i don't agree with this as i think hatton, oscar and judah had a shot albeit a small one). his legacy would be defined hereafter as "i told you so", careful matchmaking to avoid threats as he would have lost to them as well. any potential bouts (cotto for instance) would be re-evaluated and he'd lose many of these fantasy match ups in the eyes of fans.

Not sure of how big of a dent it'll make but none the less, it'll still be a dent. Losing to SSM, who's 38 and hasn't fought anybody in over a year, will surely be a bitter pill to swallow for FMJ.

Not that detrimental! Shane is a solid guy...top P4P fighter and the man at WW. A loss to a guy like Shane isn't anything to be ashamed of.

I see your angle but Floyd stepping up to face Shane is worth the respect for taking this kind of challenge.

If the 42 year old Shane wins, Floyd will be exposed for the fraud that he is.

Lets put it this way, if Mosley beats Floyd then Floyd better not fight Pac because he'll beat him too then. I think May beats them both though, and both by a wide UD
