I know there are Hatton fans who have screamed bloody murder over everything from Cortez to the fight being in Vegas, but bottom line, that fight was a very comprehensive beating that ended in a decisive KO. Mayweather was never hurt, at the best, sporadically pressured, and beat Hatton on the inside, where he was supposed to be getting muscled around and hurt to the body.

A fight like this one does not, on its own, merit a rematch.

Now for business purposes, dollars making sense, you can sell the public on damn near anything. But if you take boxing as a sport seriously, you expect more than that. If Hatton stops Pacquiao, and does it by way of badly outclassing him, I would admit that he's earned another chance at Mayweather. If he struggles with Pacquiao and squeaks out a decision or scores a freak KO, I'd be very disappointed with Floyd for still taking the fight. It would be his right to do so, but it would also clearly be passing on greater challenges.

If Hatton got to fight PBf at 140, that would interest me. Hatton looks very fast and STRONG at 140, compared to 147. Hatton was having trouble with EVERYONE he fought at 147. But, he has beaten everyone solidly at 140. PBF made it manditory at 147, sad. Floyd sr would make the rematch interesting too.
