Young Dominican-born American prospect Fernando Guerrero is not only building a professional boxing resume and a fine KO ratio, but a large and ever growing loyal following. At 22, with decent amateur background, a lot of talent, amazing physical gifts and an exciting style, he's going nowhere but up in rankings and popularity, although there's a long round ahead of him. He'll return to the ring on Friday in Salisbury to find Brian Norman, a super-middleweight who went the distance with Jean Pascal and Joe Greene. The fight is scheduled for 8 rounds. I think he can become Champion if they bring him up right, guy has a lot of talent and speed. I think most people that said he won't become **** have never even seen him fight.
Im sick of all these prospects ( Cuban prospects in particular ) being hyped up as the next something.. The next tyson, the next ali, ****in Guilermo, gamboa and all these guys.. They are not the one. They just ok.
Marvin Quintero and Abner Mares has more potential than all these guys combined... It's not about flash, it's about substance..
exactly... the tyrone watson fight basically convinced me guerrero would never be anything special, compared to the way a REAL prospect with ok power (the golden child) starched watson inside 1
This, or they only saw one of his fights (I can't remember which one) where he didn't look so hot. He has the talent and tools to be a top 10 contender pretty easily, and if he's set up right, he could win a belt. There are some fundamental points he really needs to improve upon, but that can come later. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets KTFOed soon, and everyone will call him a hype job. His chin is only so-so, and he's ripe to be countered, but it's something he should be able to learn. But he has good speed and power and he's a gym rat.
Watson fought Jacobs like 2 weeks later! He was still hurting from the beating Guerrero gave him. Seriously.
