We've all been discussing how much a Manny Pacquiao victory over Errol Spence would be, but how big of a win would an Errol Spence victory be over Manny Pacquiao? Obviously Spence is gonna make big money, but where would the victory rank on his resume, from a historical perspective, etc.?
It's equivalent to Nelo beating Cotto if a fair comparison can be made, Cotto was game throughout the fight but Cinnamon was way too strong and better than him at that point. So in other words, name on the resume but not much credit, a knockout win might change things though.
Biggest win of Spence's career and it really isn't even close. The Porter win was great but it is a notch below a 42 year old Pac.
This might be the closest comparison. Except Pac is a higher caliber of fighter and has proven he’s still a top 3 WW.
I was surprised when I had a poll on this how much credit people were giving Spence, saying it would be a career defining win not just for the name but because of Manny's current boxing abilities. But I guess it has to be, because Pac's done more since the start of 2019 than anyone at WW besides Spence and maybe Bud.
When you look at the facts its obvious that Spence SHOULD beat Pac fairly easily. A 40 yr old legend fighting the supposed #1 P4P boxer BUT ?? This is Manny Pacquaio were talking about who without doubt is one of the greatest of all time The man at 40 is still fighting the best the world has to offer while his nemeses is reduced to beating up Teenage Japanese kick boxers, celebrities & washed up MMA fighters making their pro boxing debut to try & stay relevent LOL I hope & pray Manny can do it one more time, turn back the clock & beat Spence but most of all hope they both come out of the fight without serious injury with the better man on the night getting the win
Manny has nothing to lose. Spence has everything. Spence's mentality is a big wildcard here. If he fights like Lomachanko did against Lopez he is going to lose. Even if Pac loses a 7-5 type decision its still pretty impressive.
