Pacquiao is one of the best "dirt-old boxers" ever off the Thurman fight alone so it would mean more than most other wins over a 40+ year old.
It will be a big honor for Errol to end an old Pacquiao just like any other passing of the torch match up but it shouldn't mean as much as beating a prime ATG fighter--you're dealing with a 42 year old here not 32. So the right outcome here is preferably a Pacquiao vs Dela hoya, Oscar vs Chavez Sr., Sugar Ray vs Henry Armstrong and so forth. Any other outcome might be perceived by the fans differently. The opposite happens if Pac wins, specially if it's a sensational win. It catapults him to the pantheon of all time greatest.
Ho many times has Freddie won Coach of the Year !!?? With his disabilities its credit to him to be still coaching at all BTW How many times have the Mayweathers won coach of the year ??? Hmmmm!!!
He was winning them before he got his disabilities. To be fair I quite like Freddie. He is a good trainer though he has his technical limitations. Roger Mayweather and Floyd Mayweather Snr were obviously better fighters and trainers than Freddie. Mind you I must say Freddie made Pacquiao who was already a beast an even better more complete fighter. I never forget watching the night Pacquiao defeated Dangerous David Diaz. C.J. my friend it was astonishing it was as if the previous one handed assassin had become a more complete scientific boxer puncher. Remember the way he knocked out Hatton. I must say we are going to miss Pacquiao once his time at top level is done. I expect my boy EJ to retire him. He would probably have been better off facing Bud Crawford.
Beating an ATG past their best is still a big win, especially if their last win was against a top fighter in the division.
I beg to differ but we are all entitled to our individual opinions. I think it’s the toughest fight for both men at 147 though I do believe my guy EJ prevails. I do like and respect Bud though he is one bad psychopathic mother****er and I mean that as a compliment.
42 and out for two years makes it questionable IMO. Have to get a look at him at the very least before we can call that.
Gives me flashbacks to Dawson's win over Hopkins. Hopkins coming off the win over a top 175-pounder, but sub-P4P guy in Pascal similar to Pacquiao beating Thurman. Dawson got credit for it, although it's not the win it would have been 4 or 5 years prior. I think I'd rate a Spence victory somewhere along those lines.
