Assuming it happens , how big is the Pac May fight

    - will it top all the megafights from the past?
    - will it surpass all ppv records ?
    - will it be legendary ?

    No, yes and yes.

It probably wouldn't top fights like the Rumble in the Jungle, or the Trilla in Manila, or the FOTC, or the Schmeling - Louis II rematch, cause those were world wide events on an order of magnitude that doesn't exist anymore. I can still remember as a child the world stopping for the Ali-Foreman and the Ali-Frazier fights. Literally it seemed that everyone stopped and watched these fights.

But in terms of PPV's well they didn't exist back then so would it top ODL - Mayweather? Sure don't see why not

A legendary classific..well that depends on how things pan out. If we're lucky we'll get a modern day Leonard-Duran type fight.

By the day this fight becomes less likely and less interesting. The fight is probably tappering down in terms of the "demand" for it. Floyd talked so much **** about "all roads lead through Floyd" and "I am boxing" **** that he damn near talked it right into reality for some.....but no one is buying that **** anymore. They know boxing is a live and well with or without Floyd and meaniful fights can still be made if Floyd wants to bob and weave his way out of career defining battles. It's his perogative and the sport will proceed. We just wanted to see PAC in ther with anther fellow ATG.

its very very important... its the kind of fight that I predict will be remembered as a very important one hundreds maybe even thousands of years from now... its sort of a to be remembered for all time type of fight for these guys...

It could be one of the biggest boxing events ever.

I agree with this--I think it is becoming more and more likely that this fight won't happen or if it does both guys will be years removed from their prime. Whether the fight happens or night, boxing will move ahead.

It will do 8 or 12 million ppv buys.

I agree with you. The excitement is dwindling down bit by bit as the fight gets delayed. I'm more and more convinced now that when it happens the outcome would be anti-climactic.

Mayweather has to be the favorite going in.. I think he's a little bit bigger than Pacquiao now.. he's been at the higher weights longer and even had trouble I think making weight for the Mosley fight. He's also an inch or 2 taller I believe and has the arm length I believe as well..

Now.. I think Pacquiao has a real good chance of being able to box Mayweather from the outside and use his vibrant legs and agility combined with those angles and head movement and a right body shot and straight left through Mayweather hands up defense to keep his distance working. Im sure Mayweather will have the more solid jab and better timing with it. Pacquiaos never been known for his right jab. I know people will say Pac outbox Mayweather??? Well.. Pac hits so hard that his feints and angles keep his opponent wary of him because they dont like being hit by him.. atleast thats how his fights have played out as of late for a while now.. but.. Mayweather isn't any of those fighters either.. he's a defensive fighter. We'll see

We havent really seen Floyd against a slick southpaw so we don't know how he can box with a southpaw.. Corley and Judah arent exactly the best boxers ever.. Then again there havent been too many good pure boxers that are southpaw except Pernell and Calderon but Pernell is much slicker.

One good thing we should all know though I mean this is the kind of fight where both fighters have NO EXCUSES for not training to the fullest of there abilites and putting every ounce of sweat and courage into there training. They know the magnitude of this fight and should have no reason for not being at there very best capabilites.

Prediction: I mean.. given Mayweathers awareness with his defense the more likely possibilty is a pure boxing match.. But with a fighter like Manny Pacquiao who will be ready for this and will have a gameplan to break Mayweathers defense.. it has a chance to turn into something truly exciting...

I've gone back and forth on this in my mind and played out the scenarios.. Its hard to envision Mayweather being totally dominated and its hard to imagine Pacquiao totally dominated but.. we've seen him outboxed (Marquez).. given that.. and given Mayweather will have the slight height and reach advantage.. I have to go with Mayweather hitting the canvas early when he brings his right hand to the right side of his head and brings his shoulder forward like he always does and Pac catching him with a pounding left hook right on the jaw and Mayweather will feel it.. then it will be competitive and he'll come back and there will be moments for both but in the end it will be a close somewhat controversial decision victory for Pacquiao..:deal

And the one more likely to be knocked out if there is one is Mayweather because Pacquiao is a tremendous counterpuncher in exchanges and with a fighter coming forward.. If Mayweather is going to come forward he just better not make the mistake of doing it while hes hurt.. he'll pay for it.. he has to be totally aware and defensive and using his skills first (if he tries to fight like he did Corley and exchange he won't come out on top.. but if it happens it will be exciting atleast)

The sad part is if Mayweather gets knocked out people will say Pac is the greatest but if Mayweather is able to break down Pacquiao and take his will and knock him out people will say Mayweather was too big or that he is the better boxer.

The more special scenario to me would be seeing Mayweather knock out Pacquiao.. because then it'll be more like.. "ok world.. now what do you have to say? what can you say now".

I dont think most people will know how good Mayweather really is no matter what..

doubt it. For that to happen it would have to have an undercard of:

    Klits vs Haye
    Cotto-Margarito
    Juanma vs Gamboa
    Khan/Maidana winner vs Bradley/Alexander winner
Super 6 winner vs Sergio Martinez
Gary Shaw vs Bob Arum bareknuckle fight no rounds match

Pac-Mayweather does around 3 million buys imo

    Fight won't outsell May-ODLH.

People were on Oscar's nuts before he even went to the Olympics. emmanuel doesn't have a mouthpiece like Oscar does.

Historically it's pretty big. Revenue will be huge, but overall it's not as big as some of the great fights of the 80s and some of the heavyweight fights since. Mainly because of the state of the game in the mainstream. It probabily won't happen anyway so whats the point.
