The fight has lost some luster IMO and I agree that It won't surpass DLH/FLOYD!

Yep, the idea that they were boiling it up has certainly gone out the window. It's definitely lost some steam. People don't give a toss now.

My prediction is 1.8 to 2.2 million ppv buys.

These guys on their own are drawing DLH-like PPV numbers against non-draws in the US. It should break the all-time single fight PPV record. Plus this fight's had more promotion through the mainstream media than any I can remember, and it hasn't even been made yet.

However it's starting to get a bit stale the longer and longer it goes without being made, so who knows how many will be turned away by the time it is signed. Probably not too many.

It will be a matchup between two future top tier ATGs, for the highest stakes of deciding the best of a generation. On one side you have the most accomplished boxer of recent times, who's also the most humble and most admired worldwide vs probably the most skilled boxer of his generation, who might be the most hated, with his made for 24/7 trash talking. It's a can't miss.

I wasn't around for Ali-Foreman, Ali-Frazier, Leonard-Hagler, so I can't comment on whether it's just as big as they were on a global scale. Probably not big with boxing being alot more popular back then. However this is the biggest fight in my time watching boxing, certainly non-heavyweight, with only Tyson-Holyfield coming to mind to compare it to.

It would surprise me if it does close to 5 million if promoted to the max.In which I see happening.

I can see it doing 4- 5 million with all the promotions. These two alone are big draws and together it will probably triple their highest amounts. Floyd, will promote it very well, I promise you that!

You have no idea how much careful match-making is going into these fights in order to squeeze every PPV buy available. And if you really think Margo, Cotto, and Hatton, Mosley and JMM had nothing to do with the total PPV outcome of these fights then you have even more to learn!

I agree. This was my thought upon seeing the marg-emmanuel ppvs numbers. You can't AZZk someone for half the pot when you're always bringing in significantly less. To make **** worse, bobby and top rank still owe Floyd a couple mil. Not only would they be trying to rip Floyd off, they also owe him a large sum of cash WHILE trying to rip him off.

    - Not sure if it will top megafights from the past in terms of entertainment but it definitely can or at least be in that level if it gets competitive and Mayweather is forced to open up. If Mayweather boxes comfortably and Pac can't figure him out then it will be one-sided, and one-sided fights aren't exactly entertaining.

    - Yes it will, easily. The attention for this fight is beyond imagining, EVERYONE is asking for this fight to happen. This will definitely top Mayweather vs DLH.

    - Yes it will be legendary. The amount of attention this fight will get all alone is going to make it legendary and the winner will be legendary too in a huge night like this where ALL attention will be on the fight.

Oh they do give a "toss", there is still a lot of attention surrounding this and people constantly ask for it to happen. If it's announced watch how all the attention will be beyond insane. If it doesn't happen in 2011 then it will never happen and if it does happen in 2012 no one will give a ****. Still there is a lot of hope for it to happen, every time Arum mentions anything regarding this it steals all the attention so obviously the demand is still there.

Well I wasn't the only one to suggest the fight is losing some it's steam with the dragging out of this saga of the fight not being made. So obviously I'm not the only one. I'm a boxing fan so I will buy the fight regardless, but what about the casual fan who might've been pumped up for it, but who's now lost a bit of interest in it? I said it probably won't have much effect in the PPV buys, but who knows. What if it takes another 2 years to make?
