How big of a shot do you give Joe Smith Jr. to win?

This is Popkins' farewell fight; do you think Pop has enough in the tank to get by the Long Island kid?

I have only seen 2 of Joe''s fights, and he does have impressive power. Bernhard has enough in the tank to make it through a cagey 12 rounds and win a decision though.
Anyone expecting a Pavlik performance here will be let down as BHOP in my eyes no longer has that ability. If Joe lands a bomb then Hopkins will run.

I think this is a 60-40 fight in favor of the young buck, even as limited as he is.

The old man has certainly made me eat crow before though.

    Hard to tell.
Hopkins is in his 50s and hasn't fought in 2 years.
I think Smiths win over Fonfara was basically him landing his home run shot. Id back Fonfara if they ever fought again....but I give Smith a good chance here

Smith was stylistically all wrong for Fonfara and I knew that it would end in a KO for Smith and I'd back Smith in a rematch, the kid has an incredible gas tank, cuts off the ring very well, never stops throwing shots, has a decent peek a boo defense and a decent inside game, I think he could prove to be all wrong for B-Hop as well, or at least this version of B-Hop, a few years ago I' have picked Hopkins without hesitation, but like you said about AJ-Wlad, he's been off for two years...... and unlike Wlad who'll be 41.........he's 51, before he was a very active 49 year old, this is a 51 year old coming off of a 2 year layoff... not good.

He's got a good shot against this older version of Hopkins,. He's a big kid and he's got a lot of confidence right now after totally dismantling Fonfara. I'm riding with Hopkins by UD, but it will not be an easy fight at all. The "common" man could fight!! Lol

Really depends on how much Hopkins has left. He's just a month shy of being 52 and has not fought for over 2 years. If he's not shot then he definitely has to be favoured to out smart and out box the younger man but at Hopkins age you have to wonder does he have anything left to give.

You're a delusional loudmouth punk kid who goes out of his way to sound like a tough guy and a know it all because you're insecure, immature and don't know **** about ****, every word you write screams out charlatan, you're projecting, and its apparent to everyone on this site except for you. Like I said before grow up.

For the record I don't think I'm "hot ****" if I did I wouldn't be talking to a moron like you, most of what I write on here that comes across as arrogant or obnoxious is usually tongue in cheek and me goofing around but you have such a low reading comprehension level that most of that is lost on you. I'm just another poster on a message board, maybe I may communicate a little better than your average poster, but that's about it.

If Hopkins is 10% of what he was, Smith won't win.

I hope Bernard schools the crap out of him.

    Pick'em fight.

On one hand, this could very well be Hopkins administering a boxing lesson. On the other hand, this may very well end being Kovalev-Hopkins v2.0.

Smith Jr. is a quality opponent with proven power, but doesn't have proven boxing ability. Smith Jr. has never really faced anyone like Hopkins, but Hopkins has faced plenty of guys like Smith Jr.

    Hopkins SD.

Who knows, Smith seems to be tailor made for a prime B-Hop , but that's the thing, B-Hop had a really long prime but he is really old, he can wake up the Saturday and be past his prime.
