meh. nobody called bivol some generational talent before this, so he outpoints a smaller guy trying to smash him, and all of a sudden hes too good? i didnt see it. canelo had no problem getting the shots he wanted, they just didnt have the effect he was used to. anybody who doesnt think canelo can box better than he did there, has never seen him or dksab.
i get how emotional canelo makes half the forum, not saying that includes you, but im not gonna argue about the boxing skills of the previous consensus p4p #1 boxer in the world. anyone who dont know by now, aint ever gonna know.

Canelo is not a boxer, his team does not teach the jab, he sets traps and knocks people out, no way can he out-box Bivol, he`s very limited.

AJ has a reach advantage Canelo doesn`t have a long jab, however Usyk is more skilled than Bivol.

Bivol would be the same fighter at 168 but drained and Canelo would be the same fighter unless you feel he`s slower at 175, his Bivol would still have a better jab at 168, Canelo simply doesn`t throw enough jabs.

GGG doesn`t fight like Bivol and Canelo is bigger and stronger now, Sergiy Derevyanchenko was able to bully GGG, GGG has never fought at 168.

by the way, markus, i think you know boxing, we just disagree on this one. and i dont fanboy any fighter. spence has been in my top 4 favorite fighters for half a decade, but when asked if hes a generational talent, my answer was no. because its my honest assesment. it aint about my feelings.

He struggled like mad, landing hardly any jabs at all, would you say Canelo is a generational talent?

I saw it. Bivol is an excellent technician. His ability to guage distance on the smallest scales and his general IQ made me a big fan and i knew he'd win. I even predict him to dethrone Beterbiev.

I wouldn't say Canelo has no chance. He was able to split the guard a few times and tear Bivols arms up. Unfortunately he was outclassed but not so outclassed that he couldn't find a way out of danger on the ropes. Canelo can win but Bivol is far ahead of anyone He's faced besides Mayweather. Canelo will need to bring something I've never seen

canelos style has never been static, he fights according to how him and reynoso think give him his best chances. theye been wrong a couple of times. it happens when you fight people in your league. but they are more than good enough to iron out wrinkles.
i understand canelos lack of urgency, because i know how it looks to fighters inside the ring. canelo saw himself as the agressor, saw bivol running from him, the smaller fighter. in his mind, hes winning, cause fighters dont register the punches landing on them like we see them. they are living in the moment, no time to analyse when your focused on the now. bring him in with the plan to box and not grind the opponent down and you will see a different fighter. i guarantee he will be a different fighter for the rematch. he wont be throwing to break bones, he will be throwing to land and get out.
