Yeah, it´s hard to understand sometimes, because you see good fighters from Argentina, Colombia, sometimes Venezuela and many latino countries.....and here there is nothing......it´s really hard to grow up a really good boxing fighter from here, and on the other hand in MMA Brazilians are as strong as anyone....:conf It´s a serie of factors actually.....
Where I live boxing isn't necessarily on the radar for a average cats, but there was a lot of buzz around here, from people who don't typically watch fights. They will do a great nunbers.
Didnt one really good champ come from brazi? papa fritas or something like that? It's a shame, I look at brazil and I see a potential boxing power house. You got people of all races, all different sizes....but they like soccer and mma better
Popó Freitas. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwCg94ReIog[/ame] Our greatest was Eder Jofre without a doubt (the greatest BW IMO).....check out the link of my channel on YT with rare footage about him: http://www.youtube.com/user/VICboxesep/videos Our last belt holder was Valdemir Pereira. A couple of years ago.... Yeah, the huge mix between every "races" makes brazilians great athletes, boxing is just not popular around here.....
It did better than that gay UFC hug fest that aired on Fox early in the night. Hardcore boxing fans thought it was a good fight and causal fans thought it was amazing. It did real well and it was trending on Twitter and all over the internet and there was a buzz in the air.
It was big here in DC, at least among black people. Everyone I know was looking for a place to watch the fight. And some people were trying to put together last-minute fight parties by ordering the PPV. I have a feeling this fight sold a lot more than people may think. Floyd made a killing with the 32 million plus PPV. He might very well have broken Oscar's 52 Mil. In the club last night, the DJ was like "If you had money on Floyd make some noise!!!" And like the whole club was yelling. They were talking about it on the radio station last night, and even Friday morning on the syndicated morning show.
Pretty big here in Houston,a friend had a fight party in his backyard that was about 50 deep. My dad ain't payed for a fight since Mayweather DelaHoya but he even hosted his own fight party, everyone from my 10 year old little cousin to my grandma was talking about the fight lol pretty big here in houston
Hey, do you know anything about this guy ? http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=536325&cat=boxer I know he had a very good amateur career.
