Heavyweights keep getting bigger and bigger. Lewis was 6'5 and around 240-250 pounds, and he was taller than most of his opponents. He'd probably be considered about average size for a HW today.

How big do you think HWs will get in the future? Will there be a significant increase, or will it plateau?

I think it will exponentially increase. I think in 2050 HW boxing will look like Godzilla vs Mothra.

depends on the talent coming up. right now the talent consists of big powerful men that rely on their size to be the difference. these behemoths could be beat by smaller, faster, fighters with much better stamina, and if you have enough of these fighters moving through the ranks, then stamina and speed become the obstacles to overcome rather than size and the landscape will adjust once again.

I think you'll find the average height currently is about 6ft 3. Might be a chance for someone to open up Excel and crunch the top 50 in Boxrec to determine height.

Dumb post. More like Godzilla vs Mecha-Godzilla. Mothra way too weak; no arm/wing strength.

How fast will 100m sprinters run in 300 years time? 1 second?

Have you just plucked that guess out of the air?

No way is the average height 6ft 3. Very few heavy weights are 6ft 2 and under, most are 6ft 4 and above.

    6ft 5 was a good guess.

I quickly crunched Boxrec's top 20 and the average height was 1.9295m or slightly over 6ft 3.

Adding in the next 20 puts the average up slightly to 1.935m or slightly over 6ft 3.

So YES way the average height is 6ft 3. But feel free to dispute these findings...

Ironically you actually proved your incorrect in your own statement lol!

    1.9295 = 6ft 3.95. Effectively 6ft 4.

This is without the inclusion of fighters such as David price, Tyson fury, Hury fury, wach, dimitrenko, ho would all bring up the average.

Actually, if you use a sample size of 5 more (boxrec tip 25) the average shoots up to 194, which is 6ft 4 1/2 inches. With this list still excluding some absolutely massive heavyweights.

You realise 1.935 isn't 'slightly over 6ft 3' but in fact comfortable above 6ft 4??

Average height is 6'4 today and above 230. it will platue at about 6'6 bc any taller most fighters are going to be off balance( look at wilder ) Fighters will start to be more athletic and train much better at a bigger frame and height. You wont see as many slow plodders ten years from now because the graph of a what a HW is will change to about 6'6 240 plus. You may get a 6'10 guy here and there but that will never be the norm.

My estimate says 6'6 is a perfect height to work around. Lewis/Klitchos and Joshua fall in this general area, and they are without a doubt the best SHW's ever to lace them up.

We had Valuev at 7 feet and 20 stone, pretty good fighter but not as great as the smaller Klits. Wasn't that much of an advantage vs superior mobility and punching.
