was, WAS top competition. i loved floyd but **** that. his resume past 135 is sketchy at best.

the marquez match was a joke. i defended it at first, but then he showed up over the limit and looked HUGE. that and the fact that marquez was barely a lightweight never mind fighting at basically welter

as one other poster said "i could look like sugar ray robinson fighting my 9 year old sister".

I just think imagine everyone in the same height and weight, everyone in the world in the same division whos the best? Nice and simple.

And the answer is.....Floyd Mayweather lol

    that's a good example.

If a guy is moving up to an unnatural weight class and loses, the guy that beat him wouldn't necessarily get the top spot.

no "keith" its not a ood example. Because it POUND FOR POUND!! It means if everyone weighed the same was fought in the same division who would be the best. So people fighting outside of their weightclass and doing **** isnt what P4P means!

Its an imaginery title bcos its an imaginery division where every fighter on the planet weighs the same. And so theres no weight and height advantages and everythings fair. Then who would be champion

So you are saying that if Pavlik beats Pacqiao, even though he is naturally 20 pounds heavier, Pavlik is the best pound for pound fighter?

When did this thing exactly happened?

It is easier to explain if you could give an example.

Assuming that Clottey will win against Pac, would you rank Clottey pound for pound number1?

    That probably answers your question!

PFP ranking is more of a perception than anything else. Assuming that both fighetrs would have the same weight or fight ing in the same weight, who would prevail - that is the foundation of PFP or grams per grams. or kilograms for kilograms. Meaning is your pound of flesh the same as pound of flesh of another fighter?

In black market, the pound for pound king would probably have 4,000 dollars per gram as compared to 3000 dollars for the number 2. Simply, his pound of flesh is better than yours, that given that you weigh the same, he hill always prevail in a boxing match. And that is hypothetical, subjective and lot of hocus-pocus.

    1) You didn't answer the question.

    2) To me pound for pound is the best fighter if all fighters were naturally the same weight.

To me this can best be proven if a fighter moves up past his natural weight and beats good fighters.

Are you trying to be dense, and just taking a **** here?

That is an example of hocus-pocus!

Just like beating the number 3 would make you PFP number 1.

Listen "keith" your example of Pac losing to Pavlik doesnt prove **** and so isnt a good point as you so cleverly suggested. And il tell you why.

its because the title is POUND FOR POUND!!!! Meaning that people dont have to jump weights to prove **** all. Its an imaginery title in an imaginery division where all the fighters on the planet weigh the same. From David haye to Chris John. Then, who is the best. The point would be if Pavlik was a 5"7 ft Welterwight would he beat pac? you plank

You are right douche, you don't have to jump weight, but it helps show your skills. If you can beat a bigger man, then you have proven you would have been able to beat him if you were naturally the same weight.

Can you understand that, or is that some Theory of relativity of boxing that everyone else on this thread gets, but the newbie doesn't?

try a remedial boxing class, it might help.
