Listen here *****, That wasnt the point you were argueing and the one i was. You agreed that if Pac lost to Pavlik Pac would lose his P4P status. Which ur now saying is wrong. Bcos u clearly didnt get the P4P idea and now trying to redeem yourself but its not working Keith, its not. And your he one calling me stupid. Least im not changin my arguement when ive realised im chatting ****.

Keith, it clearly bothers you that you ****ed up. I honestly dont care i was just trying to see why ppl think that a P4P losing does not pass on his mythical title. Nobody wanted any abuse bcos someone felt a little bit silly.

You cleary agreed with a point that stated that if pac moved up n lost to pavlik he would lose his P4P crown. You later changed your arguement to the opposite when i believe you realised you were wrong. However, what i dont appreciate is you actually pretending this is what you thought all along and that i am in the wrong. a waste of everyones times Keith it really is. Having too much pride on an east side boxing forum means you really have got problems lol

Between fans' obsession with p4p rankings and lineal championships, there is way too much emphasis on "to be the man, you've got to beat the man" logic.

That attitude belongs where the phrase was coined...in pro wrestling.

Boxing fans are supposed to be a more mature and intelligent breed.

There are a whole lot more nuances in this real, non-scripted sport to determining who is the greatest fighter proportionate to their size than one single win.

It's not like The Highlander, where you absorb all of somebody's power by vanquishing them.

Carlos Baldomir was never the "best" welterweight. He was an unlikely Cinderalla man lineal champ. Good for him. At no point in time was he ever the best welterweight in the world.

Yes, it is a list of comparisons with the assumptions that they would never face each other because of weight limitations.

The way I see it P4P= skill set, quality opposition, win ratio, risk

If a guy who had floyd mayweather's number beat floyd or let's say pac but did not necessarily have the same stylistic advantages over the rest of his peers than he can in no way become #1 p4p.

    Here's a good example.

Lets say Pac did a bum-of-the-month type deal and fought Collazo and add to that, by some miracle, Collazo scores a great ko.

Does Collazo automatically move above Mayweather?

You are from London, but I am guessing english is still your second language>>

The point was not that if Pac moved up and lost to Pavlik, he would lose his crown. The point was made counter to that fact.

Reread it real slowly. It was posed as a question. A rhetorical one at that.

Everything I posted was consistent from the beginning. Everyone else understands that. Why can't you?

You do seriously come across as some one who has no idea what boxing is about. And now you have come across as someone with very little to no ability to read and comprehend english.

One last time, and maybe you can have your mom explain this to you...

Moving up out of your natural weight (Ie the Pavlik-Pacquaio example) and losing would not make the fighter that beat you the number one pound for pound, nor would it necessarily mean you would lose the mythical title. However moving up out of your natural weight and beating a good fighter would greatly enhance your pound for pound reputation.

Damn newbies coming on this site and don't know ****.........

Simple, it's not some belt you pass around. Guys WORK their way up to that status. One win should not make you #1. It's something you earn by your body of work. You are getting a lot of good answers here. Please listen.

Fighters can change their weight, but not how they're built. Pac has a small structure. He is 5'6, which is small even for 147lbs. Of course Pavlik would destroy him if he went up to 160. But with all things being equal (which is my interpretation of P4P), say make him 5'10 and 160lbs, and Pac wipes the floor with Pavlik.
