Toney could've been so much better at HW, if he had watched his weight, he likely wound've beaten Peter twice and decisively as well.
Easy to say, but people are become obese at an epidemic rate. I think that now the statistics point to obesity being the RULE not the exception. This is my point. It beyond the individual. Something is inherently wrong with either the food, the societies, and/or the social fabric bringing them all together. It is also scientific fact that exerting discipline in one area of a person's life decreases discipline in other areas. I just find it strange that so many fighters are fat around the globe while at the same time so many people are fat around the globe. It seems to be more than coincidence.
He was also a multi sport phenom and just settled into Boxing. Evander is cut from a different cloth. The cloth I am sure you would be familiar with were you to put your average US football player in a Boxing outfit.
It shows a serious lack of dedication when a guy shows up fat, I can't stand the Klits because of their nuthuggin fans, BUT 1 of the reasons they win, is that they train hard, learn their techniques and show up and great shape. Dumbass Arreola is just now starting to understand he needs to be in shape.
Seriously, THESE are fat professional boxers. Guys like Arreola or Chambers are just a little flabby.
True! They are on a wrong unhealthy diet. That's the main reason. If you train everyday doing cardio while having the right diet you will look fit. Glen Johnson had a great diet plan for his last fight against Froch and came in looking very fit (unlike when he came in against Cloud gaining 16 pounds). And honestly it's not hard to have a good diet. Eat 5 to 6 meals a day, integrate vegetable and boiled or grilled white meat, fruits, stop drinking **** and replace it with water. Juan Diaz was a beast in terms of conditioning but I always believed he should have competed at 130 instead of 135 by losing that fat he always had.
No those guys are morbidly obese. Arreola, Peter, and Chambers are still fat, they have guts and are overweight.
I totally agree with the OP, professional HW boxers should not be fat!!! It really pisses me off that guys like Arreola, who is suppose to be one of the best US HW boxers, is grossly overweight. Even "fast" Eddie Chambers, should be renamed "Fat Ass" Eddie Chambers. Its no suprise that you end up fat eating too much and when i mean too much, i mean burgers and pies....Its quite simple really...

there has been plenty of overweight soccer players..just very rarly see them now...some people have that much talent that they dont feel the need to push themselves thru the wall...solis is a perfect example of this...hes had everything giving to him because of his skill..but skill isnt enough to cut it at the top you need to be fit..he wasnt and was dealt a very harsh lesson...areolla obviously hasnt got a stamina problem either does fast eddie..they win most of there fights..so they have enough skill..just maybe need to start running thru the wall..plus i dont think they arnt that fat.slightly chubby yes
