How can anybody feel that Jones was greater than Mayweather?

a good comparison for roy would be tennis's Roger Federer. When Federer came along, Sampras was a legend and Roddick was the dominating force who seemed unbeatable (like Toney). But FedEx schooled them both, made them look amateur at times, as did Roy against the best. And both achieved legacies that no one could approach.

Roy faded a little bit early in a way that Federer appears to have mirrored (though that might be the Nadal factor and the Djokovic effect in tennis, exemplary competition whereas Roy never met anyone near equal to him).

Read this carefully you moronic northern filth.

Mayweather at 36 IS past his best. Yet he is about to take on his naturally biggest opponent to date. A young undefeated guy to boot.

Why don't you just crawl away and die, you verminous ****?

Roy's wins over Toney and Ruiz (and probably Tarver 1) were better than any wins Floyd has, IMHO.

    Hmmmmm...

Bernard Hopkins was able to give Roy some problems in their first fight. Certainly Floyd's ring IQ is on par with Hopkins'....

Roy would most likely have KO ed Floyd if they fought at the same weight ..Floyd has never delt with any fighter in their prime that had the foot speed and hand speed of a young RJJ ..

There is a reason no one cares about RJJ getting KO'd and it's all too obvious.

He is war torn, shop worn, had his egg cracked once to many. Watching a slow awkward Roy is sad at best.

In his prime his natural abilities alone are unrivaled in the sport. When I 1st watched SRR who i'd always been told was the greatest I was immediately struck by how similar some of his stylistic attributes were to RJJ.

The one knock I always had on RJJ was that his defense is the exact opposite of FMJ ie; almost non existent. He relied an his ability to stay outside range and than explode in with a combo and back out. His infighting was just pathetic, he would get pushed back to the ropes all too easy and he'd just sit there in a high guard before either turning his opponent or simply flurrying out. Not exactly a defensive genius, but an amazing offensive Dynamo of the likes we may not see again for a long time.

Floyd is kicking ass at the same age that Jones was getting his Glass Jaw shattered by Class B and C fighters.

Pound 4 Pound Maywetaher would knock Jones out. Brutally.
