Cotto has always sought the "Eye of the Storm" and moved into to to battle with it. Cotto has been to Hell...and back - and he is Resurrected! If Christ were a Boxer, he would be Cotto.
You give cotto a punchers chance, also his new trainer looks to be a good fit for him and they seem to have a good gameplan. Also you have mayweather going to prison in a month which must be playing on his mind despite what him saying it doesnt. So I give cotto a 30% chance in this fight.
Mayweather may give away the early few rounds.... So an accidental clash of heads n judges scorecard after 4th round is cottos best chance
Cotto's overrated ass gonna get the hell beat out of him. He's too predictable. He's too stiff. He's too mechanical. He has terrible stamina. He has paper skin. He will get mopped the **** up. His only weapons are his overrated jab, which Floyd will take away, and his body-punching, which he really does not use very effectively anymore.
He also has elite lateral movement and combination counter punching he can use to offset the offensive pressure from Floyd, who sometimes over-commits to his power punches. He also has a much improved right hand. He can also turn southpaw. His jab is rated justly, it's one of the best in the game today.
All this "no chance" "easy work" nonsense does is take away from a good legacy "win" from Floyd. Leaving even more room for Floyd to look bad should the fight simply turn out to be competitive. Carry on.
Cotto's a good fighter, still one of the best out there outside of Floyd / Pac. Probably the closest to elite aside from those two. What has Floyd done recently to make you think hell dominate cotto every second of the fight. He didn't look that great against a shot / old Mosley. Ortiz was b-level , marquez was made for him. Cotto will give him a good fight.
Cotto does have arguably the best resume in boxing, with only 2 losses and 1 was avenged. Pretty impressive. :good
This is a terrible thread. Sure Mayweather hasn't lost and will most likely win, but do some research. Floyd has stepped up to light middleweight ONCE in his careeer and struggled against an old De La Hoya. Cotto is a harder puncher and a better fighter at this stage of his career than De La Hoya was at that stage. So stop being stupid. Floyd will get hit and probably hurt in this fight many times.
This is one of those fights in which one guy is going to have to do something he's never done before, while the other just has to be himself...guess who is who? Aside from a oh and ah moment or two that'll have the Ricans cumming in their drawers, Cotto has a snowball's chance in Hell.
