I hope he fights Mosley. We really do not know what story is accurate yet. If he does not fight Mosley and finds a way out of it then it really does look like he does not want a tough fight. It will be proven, and in that case why is he still boxing? Why is he saying is a great fighter? His resume is lacking. Boxing is a tough sport, and with young fighters fighting tough fights in small venues for a few hundred dollars, Floyd saying he will not fight Floyd for 10 million is a little ridiculous. He is finding excuses. Maybe the report is false and the fight will be announced soon. I hope it happens. Would be a good fight and I think if Mayweather has the confidence, he will win.

How can we support him? Well we have common sense and understand boxing. On the flip side, judging strictly from your rant, you don't?

  9. Floyd is one of only two people who sell boxing...PERIOD! The other fighter(Pacquiao) was the stubborn ***** who messed up the superfight. Then again if the fight happened and Floyd won, all the Floyd haters would still complain that he fought a smaller guy. Remember Floyd won his first world title at 130 and fought the majority of his career at that weight. He fought as high as 154 and still handled business.

I am not the biggest Mayweather fan out there but I do appreciate the fact that he is one of the reasons BOXING still has a heartbeat. When the casual fan and the sports world talk about current boxers, they speak about a Mayweather and Pacquiao only. Mayweather more so.

Tell me someone else in boxing who is still active that ESPN talks about.

I did a search on "boxing" at ESPN and there's a healthy number of articles about "ACTIVE" boxers and current boxing events (i.e. luevano, gamboa, klits etc.) Nothing about mayweather for the past few stories. And the reason? it's because, Floyd isn't what boxing needs. The Casual fan usually tunes in on Knockout artists/ punchers. They shy away from overdefensive slicksters. We must not confuse casual boxing fans from people who only heard of mayweather from the tabloids.

The heartbeat of boxing is doing great with the super six, the rising stars at featherweight and the upcoming pac-clottey fight at an interesting (dallas) venue.

    BOXING is doing GREAT!!!!!

I am a fan of Floyd have been since he was a Jr Light, or Super Feather... whatever you want to call it. As of now, if he does not fight Shane, I really won't look at him the same way again. This **** is pissing me off. The Guy is going to make millions either way, so what he won't get a as much as he would with Pac, outbox shane and the fight with Pac later, o any other will give him more in the end. Just fight em, stop messing with the fans like this. Do the damn thing.

The only people who even care at this point are his fans. Floyd is on the verge of becoming a non-factor in the sport. Most casual fans don't care any longer and will only tune in to see if anyone can knock him out. He is a semi-retired, prima donna who thinks he's bigger than the sport.

I couldn't care less if he fights or not.
