It fuels the fire for idiots like b-flu to make a thread calling DLH/Pac a catch weight fight. The word 'catch' replaces welter/middle/supermiddle/lightheavy and all the other classes, because it is taking place at a different weight than they permit. How does this go over your head? In no way is a WW fight a catch weight fight between SMW and LWW. That is stupid as ****. All it is, is a WW fight. if it was 148? Catch weight. 146? catch weight. 147? Welter weight.
Eze you are being ****in' pedantic. It is a WW. You may think it "COULD BE" but could be doesn't mean ****. IT IS still officially a WW even if you think "IT COULD BE" not. * * Just like how Mayweather COULD BE the ATG with his skills but until he fights the best it doesn't mean ****.
if you look what i wrote i posted the weights of their fights as a comparision..of the weights they fought at.. i mentioned the catch weight bullshi.....afterwards... floyd fought old at delhoyas weight 154,,,he came in at 150 ..didnt have a catchweight pac/dlh..fought at 147........a weight class..dlh hadnt been at in awhile... no where did i say that fight was a catch weight... but its easy to see..that wasnt a good weight for dlh..to go down too.....maybe...not the same dlh..154.... if pac went back to 130....might not be his best move all im sayin if you wanna fight ..ww......then let the fighters fight at ..147.....like the weight class states... both let the sport down..period..
It's a catch weight in title. By definition it's a catch weight, because one moved up, one moved down, they met in between. by definition, it can be CALLED a catch weight. The thread starter of that DLH-Pac was a catch weight was thinking it happened at 145.
By the definition of catch weight, DLH-Pac falls under it. Get it? Use your brain and you wont get your panties in a bunch so quickly. IT IS A WW FIGHT but it falls under the definition of a catch weight.
Ok yeah in on the boxing link(which you can barely see) on the ESPN website you can find current boxing news but I'm talking about the sports headlines. They only mention major title fights, Pacquiao, and Floyd. On a weekday I never seen them a mention a damn thing about anyone else but Floyd and Manny in the ESPN HEADLINES.
No it does not. it is impossible for a fight at 147 to be a catch weight as long as 147 is the recognized weight limit for Welterweight. It is a fight in the welterweight division. Now, did oscar belong in the welterweight division? Who knows. His previous fight was 150. Manny's previous fight was 135. The middle of those 2 weights is not 147. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat=boxer&human_id=6129 Previous fight before Oscar was 135. Oscar's previous fight with Forbes was 150. A "in the middle" catch weight for this fight should have been 142-143. So in no way do you have any case for calling this fight a catch weight. Manny came up 12lbs and Oscar came down 3 to the WW limit of 147. You are absolutely wrong. Stop arguing this ******ed ass point.
A real fan of the sport should appreciate FMJ, but let me expand on this He is able to hit and not be hit, that is a great art form. His defence is masterful and he is a complete boxer However, he can be boring, hand picks his opponents and his general deminor outside the ring is not plesent at all. His resume is fantastic however, when he beat Coralles I thought "WOW" hes won the WBC belt in 5 weight divisions so you cant say he hasnt beaten top quality opponents. He will be remembered in 20 years time, however if he soesn't fight pac-man he will be known as a fantastic fighter, who didnt fight the best fighters available and will therefore be known and remembered as a coward. Which is such a shame
You're getting butt hurt over nothing. This definition of the fight fell under what a catch weight is. A higher weight fighter and lower weight fighter meeting in between.
I agree. I respect his boxing skills but I despise his arrogant attitude outside the ring. He will be remembered in 20 years but his resume will not be as strong as the other TOP boxers such as Hoya, Mosley, RJones, Bhop, and Pacquiao.
In between 2 weight classes, not in line with welterweight. Pac 135 DLH 150 Do not meet in the middle at 147. You are wrong. Accept it and move on.
