How can anyone think Marquez won the 1st fight with Pac by a wide margin?

Exactly what was on my mind after I watched the fight. I didn't mind the draw however considering Marquez fought back like a ****ing lion despite the early nose bleed and possibly swallowing his own blood throughout the fight.

The way Marquez came back and pretty much dominated the next few rounds after taking a shellacking in the first two, was pretty special. I think he performed better in the 2nd Pac fight though, in the 1st fight I think his performance levelled off after a good run of rounds from 3 through to 6, and he didn't really maintain the same standard in the last third of the fight.

Good for you. I don't know you, so I don't care.

You have no quarrel yet you make this thread? Ok. Anyway, I haven't seen this fight in years. It's easy for me to remember how many rounds I gave a fighter, it's tougher to remember how I scored every round. I'm not about to watch this whole fight again just because you have a problem with people scoring too many rounds for Marquez.

I may do whatever I want. At least I'm talking about the fight. I'm not just coming in here throwing around insults like some people. Oh yeah, the first round did not have to be scored 10-6. Check the rules. Many judges don't even like to score a round 10-6 because it puts a fighter in too big of a hole. It's totally discretionary as to whether that round was 10-6 or 10-7. Regardless, Marquez still won 8 or 9 rounds IMO. One judge even gave Marquez 9 or 10 rounds I believe. But hey, I guess we all just don't know what we're talking about.

The judge who scored it 115-110 Marquez had one of the most bizarre scorecards I ever seen. He gave almost every round but the 1st to Marquez and gave a round that was clearly for Marquez (I think it was the 11th) to Pacquiao.

I can't see how someone would have Marquez winning big. The only explanation would be that they don't like Pacquiao. I thought the fight should have been a draw. If I had to pick a winner, one of these guys would have won by a single point. Manny showed out in that 1st round. If he had no knockdowns then I would have Marquez winning big, but knockdowns can't be erased. Manny's power got him to a draw in an amazing bout.

It's impossible to win a fight by a wide margin with being knocked down 3 times in the first round!..Especially when you don't knock the other one down.
10-6 round. It takes winning at least 4 rounds to even tie. So, if you won 4 in a row, you'd be going in to round 6 with a draw. It was a close fight, and either fighter could have won, but not by a wide margin. Even if Pac only won 3 rounds Marquez would win by 114-111.....

I was actually at the fight and I had Pac ahead by 2 rounds. Many of the other fans had Marquez ahead, but a lot of them were drunk as hell, and a **** load were Marquez fans.

The first fight even if the judge did make that mistake of not counting the extra point for Pacman I still have Marquez winning, but I think a draw would be fair. Now the second fight, like in the Chris John fight, Marquez got robbed once again. The way I see it JMM is 1-0-1 against Pacquiao.

PowerPuncher said it...it doesnt require a whole thread to discuss anything he says, you just automatically assume the opposite of what he posts is pretty much on the mark.

God knows why you take a thread on the scoring of a controversial fight so personally. I have presented my scorecard, I have invited others to do likewise so we can discuss and debate certain rounds, and yet you whine like a ***** about it. If you don't like it, **** off. If you do like discussing the scoring of fights in detail, get yer scorecard out. :good

What is this compulsive need to "let this go"? Don't you enjoy discussing the scoring of close, controversial fights? Don't you find it interesting to talk about scoring with people who have a different view of it than yourself? I thought all boxing fans enjoyed these pursuits.
