Boxers with a name will always have some people who dislike them. Same with any other athlete. Some dislike GGG because his opposition level has been weak, and feel he should be willing to move up and fight guys above 160 since he always talks about wanting to fight guys moving up in weight. Others dislike him because he publicly claimed he would fight anyone from 154 to 168, when he was just bluffing/bull****ting and plays the risk/reward game like everyone else. Some "fans" just dislike him merely because he is a rival to their mancrushes. There's always going to be some reason why some people don't like a fighter.
If he's a complete non factor in boxing, why are you wasting your time talking about him Bumchum?:think
I once watched a guy buy two boxed DVD players from a hustler selling out of his van on a NY street. I laughed because I had earlier warned him no to make the purchase. He regretted not listening because when opened, he found he was the new owner of two very used bricks. They used to say, There is a sucker born each day. Today, it is modified as, There are 1000s of suckers born each day.
As far as a fighter, his style, activity etc, I dont see how a fan of boxing could genuinely dislike GGG. I have a feeling most of you saying you dislike him on account of his fans really mean you dislike the fact that he has a fan base, a large one, that has erupted over a short period of time. If you truly dont like Golovkin because of his fans, you wouldnt be degrading GGG every chance possible, but would instead attack ridiculous posts made by those fans. The fact that almost every negative thing I see on here about GGG is in relation to the man himself, his resume etc points to the fans not being the real issue. Be honest in your dislike for him. I dislike some fighters because I cant stand them, pure and simple, but I wont hide behind some BS excuse about their fans. Speaking of which. Every fighter with a fan base has its outliers who think and post ridiculous things. Things like GGG would easily KO Hagler and Pacquiao would easily KO Chavez, or Mayweather would easily decision SSR. These are all things I have seen posted here numerous times. If you really say you cant stand a fighter because a few idiots post ridiculous things, there arent going to be many fighters left for you to support. Lastly, lets quit with a lot of these generalities. Not every Golovkin fan here thinks he is an ATG unstoppable force. As I mentioned, there are outliers, but they are not the majority. Also, not every GGG fan was a Pac fan or is anti Floyd. I am a huge GGG fan, but I absolutely and completely disliked Pacquiao. Im also a huge Mayweather fan and for the longest time Miguel Cotto was my favorite active fighter. My favorite retired fighter? Winky Wright. Quit the BS and enjoy a fighter for what he does in the ring. Golovkin brings it every time in that regard, regardless of who is willing to step in there with him.
Nobody dislikes GGG. People just hate the stupid fans saying he's the best ever and would beat Hagler when his best wins are euro level Murray and David ****ing Lemiuex
I just don't get it , the guy has a great attitude , fights everyone he can , that makes commercial sense and it exciting. Honestly the guy has given some great nights. And so what if he doesn't fight Ward in Jokeland?? Who would / should??
Please link me to all of these threads and posts that are saying these things. I browse through a bunch of the GGG related threads and rarely see more than one or two posters going on about such ridiculous claims as being able to beat Hagler. I remember one, yes, one, thread about it. That was it. You, and everyone else like you, is overblowing how fanatical and loud his outlier fan base is. I'd say the majority of Golovkin fans I've seen post on here don't make such outlandish claims and will readily admit to his resume lacking any names. What I see very little of is Golovkin haters who refuse to acknowledge WHY his resume is lacking some of those names. Not all blame can be placed at Golovkins feat, but any reasonable and rational person without an agenda could see that.
Love or Hate Him He is by far the Best Middleweight in the World...hence the reluctance to fight Him...any Fool that thinks different (and there is a few of them) are not true Boxing Fan's.!!!!
