The Fight Factory, which used to be located in Canoga Park, CA. We had a ton of fighters pass through. Malik Scott, Breazeale, and Marquez were regulars.
Sounds like shades of the IzU prediction you insisted on? ? 1\10 chance? Breazeale lines up better with Wilder as far as ability to have more openings. I can't make that clearer so it's no way the odds your suggesting is correct.
Yeah, he does it in almost every fight. That, and wing that looping left counter that's so slow that it only ever hits fresh air. He can box tightly when he wants, but it seems tied into his mentality to lunge out power shots from way out of range that leave him massively exposed. I'm not sure if it'll be quite such a liability against Wilder as might first appear. Wilder isn't really a counter puncher, and tends to overreact to shots by leaping well out of range, but leaving yourself continually exposed and off balance is never a recipe for success against a fighter who can potentially put you out with one shot.
This fight is what you call a punchers chance. It is a setup fight for Wilder to look good and make him talk more about fighting Joshua or Fury rematch.
Id advise him to apply hard front foot pressure and focus on making it a dog fight. Press him back. Try to make it an inside fight. Fighting from standard distance with Deontay is asking to get bombed out at some point. Thats his range. He also relies quite a bit on the distance to generate his power. If Breaz makes it a dog fight I think it gets interesting.
Even odds. Myself. If I actually was an actual bookie I would give Wilder 3 to 1 .If I can't make the champion an under dog on the betting line.
Very cool. I always thought that Malik Scott was either badly mishandled or he didn't have the heart and perseverance to be a top contender. He certainly had the boxing skill.
Right. I'm not really sure that I've seen anyone really determined to take the fight inside on Wilder at the mid to upper levels of contention. I'd love to see how he handles being roughed up. He does rely on the distance and is absolutely deadly when getting extension on his right.
Twice. Nichols had him on the canvas too, but corrupt ref denied him his KD! Other stiffs have wobbled Wilder since. It's only a matter of time before that fragile, eggshell chin cracks.
You was right about me being wrong I should have gave Breazeale a 1/20 chance, a slow guy with no head movement is a recipe for disaster against someone as explosive and powerful as Wilder.
