How can Floyd be considered a top WW ???

this is how esb goes

1) there is a hate thread written with all kinds of holes in it
2) A floyd fan comes on and proves it wrong
3) then a bunch of insults are thrown out there by blade lance and luke with no valid points whatsoever

baldomir was on a helluva a run at the time beating clottey, judah, gatti. And none of them were looked at as past their prime then. Judah was THE undisputed welterweight champion when he fought and lost to baldomir. Baldomir in reality would have been the undisputed welterweight champion after beating judah had he'd payed the sanctioning fees. A fight with judah vs mayweather was already in motion before judah was upset by baldomir. So after Floyd beat judah, even though judah still held a title due to baldomir not paying the sacnctioning fees. He went after the guy who was in reality and unofficially looked at as the undisputed welterweight champion... Carlos Baldomir. That is why Mayweather was ranked as the number 1 welterweight. And had baldomir paid those fees Floyd would've been the undisputed champ too.

Baldomir had 9 lossses but his last loss was like 10 years ago before he fought Floyd. Oscar was past it, but it was Floyds 5th weight class, unlike Pac he beat Oscar at Oscars best weight. Mayorgas biggest win was over Vernon Forrest yes, but he also gave Mosley hell, and was actually leading on one judges scorecard going into the final round. Oscar disposed of him like he was nothing.

I saw that fight live. Hatton won clear. Had the fight gone 15 it might have been a different story but Hatton won an easy 7 rounds on the fight. Collazos fight with BErto could have really went either way.

Why would I mention Marquez, I dont consider it a relevant win.

You can argue that Floyd's opponents are dog****, but you can't argue that he isn't an amazing boxer. Yes he's an absolute **** of a person, but by God he's a ****ing phenomenal talent.

 

Mayweather's claim to fame at 147 is that if he ever fought Mosley, Margarito and Cotto, he would have beaten them. Easy.

 

I get offended when people talk **** about floyd. I agree that he talks way too much and it's annpying at times but thats why people pay to see him lose. Nice guys don't put fans in the seat. There is always that giy peole love to hate and that is Mayweather. When talking about skill, people don't give mayweather enough credit for his skill. It is always said that he handpicks guys, ok. I'll admit he could have fought better competition, but do you think Pacman, or anyone else has not handpicked guys. What's acceptable for 1 fighter should be acceptable for all other fighters. As a mayweather fan, I feel that anything he does, is unacceptable. Asking for 1 demand in random drug testing, and people are all over him. Come on man! He's doing the test as well. He probably knows something that we don't. Mayweather walks to his own tune. Is it going to hurt him, we'll see? But for now, mayweather has fought the guys who everyone said that he was biting more than he can chew in Gatti, Baldomir, and Oscar at 154. He was supposed to lose in all those fights, but when he won, all the different excuses came out. Like I said, I am a die hard mayweather fan cause I appreciate boxing and the skills he brings. People say he is boring, sure he is if all you want to see is 2 guys trading. I watch football, and when teams are putting up tons of points, to most people that is exciting, but i don't like it. I like a defensive battle or when a team runs the ball for most of the game, some peolle think it's boring b/c they rather see the passing game. In all due respect, people that say mayweather is boring just don't understand boxing. Remember this, when he fought oscar at 154, mayweather had to concede to all Oscar's demands. Oscar - Mayweather was a glorified sparring session. Neither guy tried to win that fight, neither went for it. Biggest fight ever and also biggest disappointment.

 

Best welterweight right now? I wouldn't say mayweather... not until he beats Pacquiao.
Pac's win over cotto is more impressive than Mayweather's win over Marquez or Hatton.

It depends, right now it's either mosley or pacquiao because of who they beat, but either one can be dethroned by Mayweather if he ever decides to fight them.

The biggest name you used in there was Oscar.. and he was past it. He had already gone up to middleweight and lost to Bernard. That was the apex of his rise... he was on the slide after that. ****... he even lost to sturm before that!
