Have you seen Marquez do this when attacked by Pac? No all he did was backpedal and run away If Floyd does this against Pac without any aggresive combo counters, he will be in deep trouble It will end up like the Barrera fight This content is protected
Haha, is 'run away' spastic code for 'maintain the distance between himself and Pac'? It must be, because Marquez didn;t run from ****, he just walked Pacquiao onto his punches. Perhaps Pacquiao needs another dimension to his game if simply keeping the distance between him and yourself is too much for him to handle?
Yet another ****** thread. Don't base the outcome of the fight on the worlds best apadtive fighter using the same style throughout the fight if its not proving effective. That's Pacs domain you ******
Is this alt? look at the dudes avatar If ur being serious, everybody gets hit incl junior. one highlight dont really prove much
I'm going to try and salvage this thread by trying to resurrect a decent point out of an idiotic poster's biased ramblings. Marquez's relative height to Pacquiao actually gives him an advantage when counter-punching a southpaw that Floyd doesn't. Marquez always maintains a low center of gravity, and is able to duck under Pac's punches while still in a balanced position to throw a punch. He slips a punch, let's Pac fall into him, and comes from below with an uppercut before finishing up top. Floyd, however, is too tall to do that, and while he's able to fight on the inside against swarmers, is more likely to duck from his more streamlined philly-shell defense when in the center of the ring, and the oncoming fighter ends up on top of his low left arm and out of reach of Floyd's right, as he's ducking down. Neither fighter is particularly vulnerable here, as this position turns into a straight clinch that soon gets broken up, but Floyd isn't designed to counter from a low center of gravity. So, when Floyd is attempting to move to Ortiz's right, he gets clocked by a shot he shouldn't have. He can't fluidly weave under it while moving laterally and looking for an offensive angle all at once. His problems with lateral movement are another thing I've touched upon before, which lots of people hated on and few with any educated response, but it's evident once again as he lets Ortiz back him up as he throws at him before he even lands anything, instead of pivoting out and regaining command in the center of the ring. Ortiz doesn't land much, but it would be a bit dishonest to say Floyd is in control or getting the better of the action on the ropes there. Floyd won every round of this fight before the KO, but these little things may add up in the end and will contribute to the answers to the questions we don't have yet about Floyd VS Pac. Hopefully I'll be able to make a more elaborate technical video about these points and others I've tried to make in the past with footage sooner rather than later.
Floys has never had a hard time ducking below the waist of opponents, such as Hatton who is about the same size of Pac
Floyd will be an easier fight for Pac than Marquez i think, because Floyds offense is not aggresive enough, plus he always go into a defensive shell which makes it easier for Pac to attack him
I'm saying that taking a lateral step while weaving under a punch and looking to land an offensive angle is something he's not habituated to, and that after walking into a kind of wild punch, he's more likely to back straight up and take a few shots than pivot out to regain control of the center. In my post I said that he often does duck under his opponents punches, but that if they fall onto him and into a clinch while he's below waist-level, his offense is usually turned off, until the action resumes and he can control the distance, which he does so well.
IMO, I would chalk that sequence and similar flurries by Ortiz and how Floyd reacted to them to the size and weight of Ortiz, he was a middleweight that night @ 164. Additionally, the way Ortiz flurries, he keeps his body very low and it would be difficult for anyone to get underneath those shots, and Ortiz's body was too big for Mayweather to make contact with and pivot off of cause I doubt Victor would have moved an inch. Mayweather wouldn't be at a weight disadvantage against Pac.
This content is protected [/QUOTE] How can Manny beat Floyd with this? Falling in, average footwork, can't cut the ring off and damn sure doesn't move his freaking head.
