How can Golovkin become the lineal middleweight champ?

He can start a new one I believe its happened before but I could be talking out my ass

 

Beat Canelo or beat the next best if Canelo leaves the division full time.

 

The thing is, Canelo isn´t anywhere near the best in the division. Next best is someone like Heiland..lol. Golovkin is the man, has been the man for many year already. Lets not make it a contest anymore - there are no fighter want to challenge is position.

 

Canelo was a 1:5 underdog vs. GGG when he dropped the belt. So no, hes not the lineal champion anymore. You can't preserve the lineal status by running away being the underdog.

 

Bowe did it with Lewis as well.

 

He can create a new lineage since Alvarez both vacated and moved down in weight. If he stayed at middleweight, he could have a claim for retaining it.

It'd make no sense that Liam Smith could become lineal middleweight champion in a fight at Jr middleweight.

 

By getting the WBO belt.

 

Liam Smith can't become lineal MW champion in a fight at LMW.

Canelo only vacated his WBC belt. Not the Ring belt or the lineal belt. He's said he wants to fight Golovkin at 160. He's still the champion.

 

You guys can't figure this out because you're talking nonsense. A guy who doesn't fight at middleweight, who has never fought at mw, who refuses to fight at mw, and who says he's not a mw, is somehow the lineal mw champ. People, listen to yourselves.

You can say the lineal is vacant, you can say it falls to another mw champ, but please don't say Saul Alvarez is the lineal middleweight champ.

How about if, say, Thurman takes a fight with Canelo and beats him at 154, then moves back down to welter. Is the 'Lineal Middleweight Title' then contested at 147?

Thinks that he is fighting at the weight-class of 155, as there is no such thing as a "155 weight-class" ,he is pretending to be not in the MW division because of GGG.There are 17 divisions just pick one, if you can't make 154 then you are a MW, simple.
