    Cotto-Canelo was contested at 155. MW is 155-160 theoretically.

    In my book just by beating the #2 (not 100% clear if that's BJS or Jacobs though... probably BJS) and starting a new lineage. Not sure everyone will see it the same way though.

    He left the weight class, dropped his belt, and is fighting for a new belt at 154.

    Seems pretty cut and dried to me. Lineal title is vacant.
