If they were American, the division would STILL be ****...and that's what hurts them. If defending a belt in a weak ass division makes you P4P...then lets re-write the whole ****in thing....
i think talent and resume have to be included. vitali is likely tougher sure, physically it's a given. and he has been taken out pretty much every credible threat but wlad has systematically taken out the entire top 10 except for his brother. the only ones he hasn't fought are those that ducked him. no other fighter in any division can claim that
He's in The Rings top 10. I do think he should have been in there longer, the current crop really is pretty weak, ****ing Nonito Donaire who's won 1 important fight is the fourth best fighter in the world? Tim Bradley's in there already? Only the top 3 (Pac, Mayweather and JMM) look like real pound for pounders to me. Wladimirs done more than Paul Williams so realistically should be top 5 by now. I think he isn't for 2 reasons 1. Not American or America based. 2. A heavyweight, who've always been a bit undervalued p4p wise, Lennox Lewis only just cracked the top 10 in his time too.
Wlad's not higher in the top ten because he is Eastern European; there is still a lot of hostility and suspicion of Eastern Euro's that goes back to the Iron Curtain days. Hell, I remember the days when air sirens would blast out warnings of possible Soviet nuclear attacks and we as small children would have to run home and cower in our basements. Hard to believe now but it happened. The Klitschko's are great fighters but the hatred and contempt directed toward them by the American media is almost palpible. That kind of hatred comes from decades of fear and hostility that existed between the two superpowers; America and the Soviet Union, from WW2 to the early nineties. Old rivalries, especially life and death ones, die hard.
This is so true. Super Wlad is amazing and anyone who doesn't rate him as #1 P4P is an idiot who hates boxing, sucess and the human race. The P4P list has always been based on getting as many wins as possible. It should have nothing to do with who you beat and how you beat them. Just because Super Wlad eeks out late stage TKOs and UDs against the worst crop of out of shape bums in the history of HW boxing, that is no reason to keep him off the top of the P4P list. Pacman and Mayweather have beaten nobody at all compared to Super Wlad. The same goes for every other man in the history of boxing. Also, Wlad is a very large man with a great physique. He is easliy the most impressive physical specimen in sports today and that alone is enough reason for threads like this to exist. Wlad's amazing body alone demands that he be rated GOAT in the sports HOF. If Super Wlad was American he would have been made president by now. The people would have looked at how he dominates and controls his ATG opponents in the ring and decided they want him to do the same to the other countries of earth. If Super Wlad was American there would be no wars and everyone ever would fear his wrath and recognise him as the GOAT human being. Now when it comes to Vitali I only have 2 words for you...... Cris Arreloa. Now STFU haters!
lennox lewis should have never been in the p4p top 10 anyway. the only HW who deserved to be in there the last 40 years was tyson.
Klits are Heavyweights! They don't make the P4P lists for a reason. Well...I've seen some with the Klits on theirs but for the most part the P4P ranks are for the lower weight classes. That's the reason you never hear ALI or LOUIS in anyone P4P rankings. The Klits are good boxers who are dominating a very weak HW era. But with that said the Kilts would be top fighters in other eras that were more rich with talent. They just wouldnt' be dominant. Klits don't make the P4P ranks bro.
I agree about Wlad. Not Vitali though. But both should be ranked highly. These two have some serious skills coupled with their physical advantages and haven't even come close to losing a fight in years.
It just aint going to happen. Ring aint never going to award a white eastern Europe heavyweight with a spot that high. Wlad is lucky to get No 9.
The answer is in the question...They!!! Yes its taking 2 people to dominate the division, because they wont fight each other there achievements are shared and diluted
Take the K-bros out of the division and you have parity...some pretty skilled boxers fighting good fights against each other...it's not weak...it's just that there are two guys who are awesome! Take tennis for example...because federer and nadal are so ****ing good you don't hear people saying the rest of tennis is ****....they are just that much better and so are the Kbros. without them we would be talking about the great undefeated sam peter v. sultan ibragimov or povetkin vs. haye or whatever...there are good fighters the K bros are just exceptional
