How can Mayweather dominate the fight, but he's the one getting hurt?

Tagging Mayweather a few times throughout the course of a fight is not enough to beat him, you have to win entire rounds and catch Floyd constantly throughout the night. This is the same way that others have lost to Floyd, and Manny only won 3 rounds or 4 rounds to be generous at the most.

I think people just assume everything Floyd throws he lands, he barely even landed his right hand, and definitely not effectively, nothing to compare vs the rights Marquez has landed, and nothing to compare with the punches Pacquiao landed on him in this fight. Pacquiao did very well avoiding the right hand, but Floyd also did well adjusting his left hand with stiff jabs and wide hooks late in the fight to neutralize most of Pacquiao.

Agreed. A guy who hurts the other guy should automatically win that round.

For rounds where nobody hurts the other guy the rounds should be given to the guy who is the aggressor, pushing the action.

Floyd wasn't trying to hurt Manny. He showed no inclination to try and hurt him.

Rather his entire gameplan was to avoid getting hurt instead of hurting which he did for the most part.

I can't give the fight or say somebody dominated a fight when he didn't try to hurt the other boxer.

So if you move forward in an aggressive manner and your opponent makes you miss most of you punches and lands more on you but neither of you are hurt you should win for moving forward?

    Effective aggression scores, not ineffective.

Doesn't matter what you can or can't give. Floyd won on all scorecards. It's in the books. NO CONTROVERSY. Get over it.

If the other man doesn't make an effort to be aggressive or hurt then he's conceding the round.

Because boxing is scored on a round to round basis.

Can you give rounds to a fighter who is conceding them?

If you aren't trying to hurt the other guy then what's your objective?

    No he didnt.
Floyd was letting him throw punches for free.
He wanted to see what he had.
    Pac had nothing.
Then Floyd went back to work and won every round after that.
