But Floyd's defence has always been better than Roy's. The latter relied on his reflexes and athleticism, whereas Floyd seems to have more in this department (not to mention the fact that he has retained what Roy unfortunately lost).

That being said, yes in boxing anything can happen. A wild left hand might sneak through the defensive walls of Mayweather, and switch all the lights off. God I wish that happens

Outworking him and something no one has mentioned as of yet...gaining the mental advantage with mind games. If Mosley "punks" Mayweather at the weigh in, during press conferences and throughout each meeting, he will gain an advantage no one has ever had over Mayweather. That is a key to unlock a hesitant, careful and confused Floyd we have yet to see.

That's a very good question, and one I'm certain Roach has already thought about. Win 7 rounds against Floyd, and you've just handed him his first ever defeat (providing you don't get yourself knocked out)

I realize the differences in fight styles, but what I'm referring to is the mutual fan idea that their fighter is unbeatable.

The Roy fans' thinking that their fighter was unbeatable is a lot like the consensus among Floyd fans. Any fighter can be knocked out on any given day. If a fighter has a brain, it can be shaken up by one good shot.

No one is immune to the knock-out!!:bbb

Mosley cannot beat Floyd on the cards, imo. He'll have to sell out and press for a ko at some point. It wouldn't be unusual for him to start fast and try and make Floyd uncomfortable if not bewilder him early on. Mosley however is capable of pressing his attack at any point in the fight which surely makes for intrigue.

Pressure, body punching, combos, a stiff jab (the kind he showcased vs Margarito) Floyd is used to countering and picking apart slower and smaller fighters who cant fire back quickly this isnt Shane Mosley.

just to play devils advocate to my original question

is mosley the biggest (and most precise) hitter floyd has ever faced?

can anyone see mosleys power and strength in this fight being a big factor (considering mosley is the big welterweight we've always wanted him to face)?

Judah was probably the most precise, and Diego at 130 was probably the biggest puncher P4P he has ever faced.

don't fight in distance with floyd because mosley punches like a high powered sniper gun, it's too fast when released, however, loading his gun takes time and floyd will see that. that's enough time for floyd to get out of the way and set his counter.

I say fight rough, floyd will be able to catch him coming in, but it's unlikely that floyd will hurt shane. Get inside first before firing a shot

Well i think anyone who says mayweather is going to destroy mosley is foolish.
He should beat him, but this is mosley lets not forget.
And against top live fighters mayweather hasnt looked stellar at all.
Hatton pushed him, and had mayweather not got so much protection from the ref, it could have been different.
Then theres a very over the hill oscar who gave a good account of himself.
So long as age doesnt catch up with mosley over night, he will have a more than decent chance of an upset.

I think that Phillip N'Dou, who Floyd fought at 134, was a hard puncher. He had a record of 31W 30KO 1L and was a relentless fighter who never stopped throwing punches.

I might be mistaken but you are not comparing N'dou a very average c grade fighter to Shane Mosley who has been one of the best fighters from the past 15 years. Different cloth my friend.

1- Double your pressure, two jabs ( don't paw with the left hand) - don't be open for his right hand - smother his space.
2- Tipping his hand - Floyd has a habit of showing what he has and what he's gonna do - he flips his left elbow a lil bit to throw jabs - when you see this, throw your overhand right immediatedly to get a flush.
3- Right hand not the foot - you have a habit of putting your right leg in front when you lead with the right hand. LEAVE YOUR FOOT BACK so that you won't leave yourself open and out of position.
