    He was smiling because:

    1. The Fans were loudly cheering him and booing Mayweather out of the place.

    2. He's a millionare. I know that would make me smile.

    3. He was fighting an even fight with the #2 P4P fighters in the sport until the butt/suckerpunch.

Considering everyone expected him to get completely outclassed, I can understand why he was smiling.

I watched it again this morning. The ref never said Box.

That's why Cortez was still looking outside the ring, because he hadn't resumed the action.

bull****, compared to somebody with a regular job does, like ~40.000 $ a year, ortiz should be all smiles, dude is 24 and a millionere, cant get any better. sure he would like too have more, but he has a house, some cars, for what do he need a mansion with 35 rooms and 15 cars, he only has 1 ass? plus, he gonne get a second chance vs a big man, mayb rematch, maybe khan, maybe marquez-pacquiao winner, if floyd hides away again.....

You remember many moons ago when Diego Corrales (RIP) lost to Floyd after his father threw in the towel to save him from any more punishment? ****in' Diego was crushed, man, crying and everything. ****in' distraught. He was ready to fight his father, for chrissakes (Diego's father was right, btw). Ortiz exhibits none of that. He's got absolutely no fire. He's just like, "Oh, well, ****it. Tomorrow's another day." Amazing, the two extremes.

I thought it was an embarrassed smile, basically masking how he actually felt.

Ortiz was humbled, part of me thinks he was glad it was over at that point,David was in for a long night... Also he realized he made a silly mistake and paid the price.

Yes he did. He signalled for them to fight. Watch it again.

Perhaps he figured crying and all that **** will not really take him back in time.

Ortiz knows what he did was very silly. He'll be regretting that mistake. I don't understand why did he have to apologize so much for? Why do fighters feel the need to cuddle floyd?
