Mayweather has a 72 inch reach. Do you know what that means in feet, that is 6 feet, meaning that if that is just the left are, hand and forearm, his one upper extremity is longer than his entire height of 5'7 inches. On the other hand, JMM has a 67 inches reach, meaning that he has 5 feet and 7 inches reach, or basically his height. Those figures do not make sense if you are just referring to one upper extremity for obvious reason. Besides there is no boxing oragniztion that measures reach from armpit to the end of the knuckle.

The boxrec record is for wingspan, meaning from one end of the middle finger to the other end of the middle finger with both extremities extended. If you do not know what that means, imagine the Da Vinci drawing of a man inside a circle and that is exactly how it is measured.

So the reach advantage is actually for both upper extremities, meaning 5 inches divided by 2 to be only 2.5 inches. At most then, Mayweather has only 2.5 inches reach advantage, and that becomes lesser if you ahve to put into the equation the broadness of their bodies. Now, another thing is that this measurements are taken with the hands in open and not fisted position. So fighters with long fingers will have a decrease reach advantage as wee.

So at most, May would probably have just 2.5 inches reach advantage, and surely it would be even less than that.

What does JMM's age got to do with Pac not defeating Mayweather? When Pac fought JMM, JMM was not 36 years old. If Divac's contention that JMM was starting to go past his prime when he met Pac, then the JMM that Mayweather is facing is past that period as well. Your analogy does not apply to a Pac fight. If JMM is older than JMM, then JMM will not defeat May, but if you say that JMM is older, therefore, Pac will not defeat Mayweather is simply erroneous and illogical. That answer is to a stupid thread putting figures without ever thinking. To say that Mayweather has literally 5 inch reach advantage is just plain stupid. It may not even be an inch if you put the equation where he has a bigger body.
