HOW can PARKER beat ZHANG? - Your Tactics??

Both Over Rated 50/50 Fight though...

 

Everybody is getting carried away over a 40 year old who in reality took out one of the most one-dimensional heavyweights I have ever seen. Joe Joyce hits hard and has a good chin but the fact is that he stood dead in front of Zhang and Zhang’s power did the rest.

Well Parker will fight from all sorts of different angles and if concrete footed Zhang can’t cut off the ring I can see Jo confusing the big Chinaman to the point of frustration. If Jo can get in and out and move laterally on the outside I can’t see Zhang finding him.

Parker by wide UD or late KO.

Parker has to prepare for this fight to go 12 rounds.

As far as tactics go, watch the fights he had with Joyce & basically just do the polar opposite.

 

Similar to what he did with Wilder but much more difficult with Zhang because he's much tighter defensively, and more accurate with his punches. He's also in form and fighting regularly which Wilder isn't doing.

But getting in close, change levels force him to work harder than he wants to. Parker doesn't need to look for huge shots but keep Zhang moving..if he does that and Zhang starts to blow then try and up the ante again and bring in some genuine power shots. He will need to look for the big shots coming back though so has to be responsible.

 

It's not impossible. Parker is a smaller target than Hrgovic and Joyce, will be moving down the centreline and weaving, and he does have a sturdy chin. He can't pull off a Locche, but hitting clean somebody who is moving proactively with a somewhat decent defensive savvy is not easy. Punchers like Foreman or Beterbiev have the benefit of rock-solid bones which ensure the kinetic transfer is powerful even when they miscalculated when to transfer the power.

Parker will be feinting, moving, changing head slots and stalling until Zhang's age and questionable gas tank pave the way for him to take rounds. Then again, I don't rate Parker high. I don't rate Wilder at all. Zhilei is a different beast with different attributes: accuracy, quick hands, amateur pedigree, power and combination punching. He is not the Bronze Fraud and while I there are numerous chinks in his armor (slow feet, bad stamina, his output can drop extremely when put against an educated flow of feints, leads, and movement) I would not bet on Parker pulling it off.

That being said, with how inactive the division is against variety of styles, anything's possible.

 

Proclaim that you have the greatest chin in the division and that nothing will happen if Zhang hits it.

Pretty much this. Set the pace and take him out of his comfort zone. Easier said than done, though.

Parker needs to box and move. He can outbox Zhang. If he starts trading shots, Zhang will come out on top.

Zhang looks decent enough, but his resume is thinner than concentration camp toilet paper... It's literally a 50/50 loss to otherwise unproven Hrgovic and 2 wins over extremely one dimensional and comically overhyped Joyce (who has a decent resume for how few pro fights he's had, but is so incredibly basic defensively)

 

Can't help but admire Parker's courage. Two back to back dangerous fights.

 

Punch Zhang in the face then run away....for the entire fight. Never get in a clinch; Zhang would rag doll him.

Doesn't matter. The Great Wall will fall on Parker 9th round. TKO win for the Big Bang.
